Here's the last fic-bit from the meme I posted weeks and weeks ago!

[livejournal.com profile] dodger_sister asked for something from my The O.C./SPN crossover On The Run, Driving In The Sun. I, of course, was happy to oblige.

As usual, three things and a deleted scene under the cut.

Another case closed, another good kid saved from the lifelong stigma of California’s justice system. )

As you can all probably tell, I can post from work I just can't do a lot of other things like read my f-list. You win some, you lose some.

So, I put up a meme things last week where I offered to answer three questions about my stories. Both [personal profile] hiyacynth and [livejournal.com profile] dodger_sister asked for more about my Ron stories All Stories End and Burn My Sins Away. So here are three bits of background/head canon and one deleted scene.

LOL, I don't even know how to explain this. The idea popped into my head and then I had to spend all day writing it. Somehow I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] dotfic is all to blame. I don't know how, exactly, but I'm still sure it's all her fault. So I guess we can call this an unbirthday present to us both. ;-)

But, anyway, here it is, what I know you've all ben waiting for, Castiel having a conversation with a certain Old One. Plz to enjoy.

Title: Though Grim From the Grey King Shadows Fall
Fandom: Supernatural/The Dark is Rising crossover
Disclaimer: We all know that these characters are not mine. FYI they’re Eric Kripke’s and Susan Cooper’s, just in case there was any confusion.
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Set after SPN episode 4x18 (On The Head of a Pin) with spoilers through 4x20 (The Rapture) and general spoilers for The Dark is Rising sequence.

Summary: Even the faith of angels can be tried.

( There was no comfort here. )

Oh man, how can I not have a Castiel icon? *facepalms* Oh well, the Impala is always awesome, no matter what. FIXED! Now all is right with the world.

So, like I said, it's the Baylor Sister's birthday today. So I wrote her a story. It's, well, before posting I feel like I have to explain how this idea popped into my head.

You see, the Baylor Sister loves Jon and Kate Plus Eight. She really loves it. She loves it in the way that I love SPN. So even though I don't regularly watch the show or anything I do pay attention to what the magazine covers at the grocery check-out say. And then last week, while I was half-watching [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr play Knights of the Old Republic and half-dozing on their couch, this story idea popped into my head. Trust me, it's just the sort of crack that is right up the Baylor Sister's alley.

Happy Birthday, hon. I hope you're proud of the things you make me do. ;-)

Title: Damned If You Do
Fandom: Jon and Kate Plus Eight/Supernatural crossover
Disclaimer: I don’t own the rights to Supernatural, those are benevolently dictated by Eric Kripke and Warner Brothers. And I definitely don’t have any say about what goes on in the lives of the members of the Gosselin family. This if fiction and I trust it will be viewed accordingly.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: When you think it can’t get any worse it probably will.

( He didn’t need grief from Kate about getting plastered, or from half of America, for that matter. )

Title: The Coming Storm
Fandom: Supernatural/Birds of Prey crossover (Missouri Moseley and Barbara Gordon)
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing. It’s all Eric Kripke’s and DC comics's and blah blah blah. We all know who the real braintrust is around here.
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Set after SPN episode 2x22 (All Hell Breaks Loose, Pt. 2) and Birds of Prey issue #114.
Summary: She went to Missouri and learned the truth.
Author's Note: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] xovers_ftw SPN crossover challenge, prompt #6 (Missouri and Oracle from the Batverse). Mucho and beaucoup thanks to [livejournal.com profile] voleuse for making the request that allowed me to combine two of my most favorite current fandoms. Also thanks to Sean McKeever for coming up with a BoP storyline that made my task ridiculously easy.

( She had come a long way on the slim hope that this Missouri Moseley would have the answers she sought. )

Hey all. Am running around from city to city, picking people up before heading to the memorial. However, had to utilize some free wifi to ask a question.

Does anyone know of good places to advertise something like the Crossover Challenge? The fic communities of which I'm a member appear to disallow announcements like that. It's times like this that remind me that being one step above a lurker isn't always the most effective position in the interwebs.

Thanks, you guys. Any and all suggestions and/or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would owe you big time, and it's always good to have a couple favors that can be called in. *wink wink*

In less melancholy news I would like to announce the First Supernatural Crossover Challenge!

DUN DUNDUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Beginning today and going through Friday the 25th we'll be accepting all types of prompts at this post here. So, if you have a SPN crossover that you've been dying to see, now is the time to share it.

With the depths and devpravities of winter affecting so many of us, and the writers' strike affecting us all, we could all do with a little something to make things a little brighter. In my humble opinion, there's nothing like a fun crossover to make the world a little less gray.

Come play with us! And be sure to invite everyone else to play with us too! Like I said in the comm post, the sooner we make the multiverse collapse in on itself the happier we'll all be!

Come on, you know you wanna ...

I have come to a conclusion regarding the crossover challenge. I'll start with a SPN challenge (details and prompt request should be up in a day or so) and then sometime later, probably this summer, I'll extend it to a multifandom event. After all, one of the reasons I wanted to do something like this in the first place was because, while I've always loved the Multiverse fic exchange I've also found it to be a little constrictive. Because, apparently, I'm so greedy that having all of the space-based fandoms to choose from just isn't enough. So while my heart longs for a multifandom event I do think its better to start small and branch out if/when I can.

Course, the fact that I had the inspiration to do this just when everyone is signing up for bigbang and Sweet Charity could very well mean that I'm shooting myself in the foot. It's all good though, there's enough room in fandom for a multiplicity of challenges.

Anyway, the comm is all set up. It's called [livejournal.com profile] xovers_ftw because they really, really are.

Heh. Maybe next I'll organize an AU challenge. I do love me a good AU.

Have nearly 800 words written on the Jo fic I mentioned yesterday. That's pretty exceptional progress, for me. Except, I'm fairly certain that large chunks of it will have to be rewritten. Still too much plot, not enough character introspection. Though, thank goodnes Jo doesn't do emo. Sometimes it's really good to not be a Winchester.

I feel like I should have more to talk about, but I really don't. I spent most of today knitting an afghan and watching TV. The Nova episode on the race for absolute zero was most interesting.

So, after talking about crossovers last week and with the writers' strike dragging on I was thinking that it might be fun to host a crossover challenge. The conundrum comes in what kind of challenge it would be. I would love it to be multifandom but I don't have nearly the kind of BNF cred it would take to advertise it. If it were solely for SPN crossovers I'd at least know where to go to get the word out.

Anyway, blah blah blah. My purpose here, dear f-list, is to gauge interest. As such, plz to enjoy this poll:

[Poll #1121350]

Had quite the flash of inspiration today regarding a possible Jo&Kat story. I think it could be fun. Rewatching s.2 has only reminded me of how much I miss Jo. So many things to write, so little time.

Man, am I ever in a weird-ass mood today. It's jumped all over the place. On one end of the spectrum was the giddiness inspired by an awesomely cracked phone call from [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth and on the other end is this bizarre rage/depression thing that has me metaphorically crying into my cornflakes one minute and wanting to punch people the next. Not any specific people, just, you know, people in general. I see Summer Roberts isn't the only person in the world with rage issues.

Last night I started typing up a post about language and being a single woman and a feminist and a mormon that just got bogged down in its own wordiness. Also, since I try not to be the kind of person who's bogged down by my own emo I decided it wasn't the right time to make that post. Cause let me tell you, folks, my emo is boring and I really don't have much patience for it.

Yes, because making a post about an emo post isn't self-indulgent at all. *rolls eyes at self*

And now I'm trying to think of entertaining/cracky things because those are the sorts of things I love the best but all that comes to mind are the writers' strike and the New Hampshire primaries. WTF? Where has all the crack gone? Obviously, my brain totally fails today.

You know what I'm waiting for? The one great Doctor Who/SPN crossover. Or a Torchwood/SPN crossover, cause after all the time I spent comparing John Barrowman to Jensen Ackles during the angst scenes in the first series it's about time that Jack and Dean met up for real. Not that I'm the person to write any of these because I have no clue what would happen but it'd be pretty awesome.

Course, I'm the girl who thinks that everything should be crossed over with everything else. I'm sure I've told the story about how I started reading LotR fanfic because of a Buffy/LotR crossover. It's really not very surprising that so many of my latest stories are crossovers. All of my favorite characters should get to interact with each other all of the time, there should be a law or something.

Okay, I'm gonna go and try to be productive rather than, well, whatever else I've been. And listen to some music. Music makes everything even more fantastic.

It's a birthday and I committed fic!

Title: On the Run Driving In the Sun
Fandom: Supernatural/The O.C. crossover
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing (except the actual written words). It’s all Eric Kripke’s and Josh Schwartz’s and blah, blah, blah. We all know who the real braintrust is around here. Title taken from the song ‘California’ by Phantom Planet.
Rating: PG-13 just to be on the safe side
Spoilers: None. Set pre-series for both shows
Summary: Sandy Cohen has a new client.
Dedication: For the irreplaceable (or is that irreparable?) [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr on the occasion of her birth.
Author’s Note: Fans of either series with little or no knowledge of the other should have no problem understanding what’s going on.

( This job was going to break his heart. )

She gives me weird, disturbing, Sam killing bunnies for my birthday and I give her pre-series wee!chesters interacting with Sandy Cohen for her's. I'm not sure what that says about our relationship but it has to say something. ;-)

Phew, made it in just under the wire for Sam's birthday. It's good to have demanding friends who tell you to stop being lazy. =D

Title: Let Him Do What Seemeth Him Good
Fandom: Supernatural with a slight X-Files crossover
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing. It’s all Kripke’s and the CW’s and blah, blah, blah. We all know who the real braintrust is around here.
Rating: PG-13 at very worst
Spoilers: General for the series. Takes place in between ‘Crossroad Blues’ and ‘Croatoan’.
Summary: Sam hears whispers of a faith healer in rural Alabama.

( Something was stealing children from their beds and leaving them buried in the soft river mud and he was prepared to say whatever it took to uncover the secrets that this town, like all the others he’d ever lived in, held close to its chest )

I can't believe I wrote more fic. Happy belated birthday, [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth, my dear. You are, as always, my inspiration in all things.

Title: chase the stars across the sky
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica/Supernatural crossover
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing. The real puppetmasters are Ron Moore and Eric Kripke, I only borrowed their toys for a little while.
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Vague season one BSG spoilers for ‘Water’, nothing specific for SPN.
Summary: Chief is in some trouble and his crew calls in someone to help him out.
Dedication: This is all for you, [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth, babe.

( From beside him he could hear Dean communicating with the ship, a low-level stream of jokes interspersed with brusque responses to landing coordinates and instructions )

*sigh* There weren't any angsty heart to hearts, as I had hoped, but I did bend the powers of time and space to get two of your favorite boyfriends into the same room at the same time. That'll do, in a pinch. ;-)

Am in the process of writing up my recap of road-trip and camping with the family. In the meantime, seeing as the authors have been unveiled over at Multiverse 2006, here is my story. It's a Firefly/BSG crossover featuring two characters who are wicked fun to play with. Read and enjoy.
