Hey all. Am running around from city to city, picking people up before heading to the memorial. However, had to utilize some free wifi to ask a question.

Does anyone know of good places to advertise something like the Crossover Challenge? The fic communities of which I'm a member appear to disallow announcements like that. It's times like this that remind me that being one step above a lurker isn't always the most effective position in the interwebs.

Thanks, you guys. Any and all suggestions and/or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would owe you big time, and it's always good to have a couple favors that can be called in. *wink wink*

Did you leave a comment to the latest edition of the [livejournal.com profile] spnnewsletter asking them to include it in the next edition's Challenges section?

Yeah, I was just going to suggest this same thing.

Because you're awesome like that. =D

That is a terrific idea. I, ummmm, may have been a little intimidated by the newsletter. See, there are requirements and rules and I would hate to do something wrong that would only make more work for all of you awesome people who put it together for us.

My fears have officially been assuaged. Thank you!

I'm no longer an active newsletter girl (just a sub), but I promise we don't bite. Just leave a comment with the link to the post, ask if the coder will include it under "Challenges," and you should be good to go!

Word of mouth through ye 'ol flist works well - write up a general post and then your friends all make the same post (we tend to do that a lot in the LOTR fandom).

Word of mouth is a fantastic tool and thank you so much for utilizing it on my behalf!

My one reason for looking for additional methods is that my f-list has become rather multi-fannish and many of the people to whom I am the closest aren't SPN fans. It takes me a while to meet new people and hobbits are still the ones I know the best. ;-)

Same with me - most of my flist is LOTR/hobbits/frodo so me pimping won't do much good. But I figure it can't hurt. (I'm actually finding it quite difficult to make friends in the spn fandom - I guess I'm too quiet...argh).
