iTunes loves me. It just started playing a happy selection from RotK. This combined with watching Ringers last night makes me SO NOSTALGIC! Oh for the halcyon days of the movies and the fandom and the hobbitshobbitshobbits.

Ringers is great, btw. Dom narrates and they have lots of great interviews with Tolkienists and damn dirty hippies like David Carradine and Viggo and there is so much pure love for us crazy fans. There's even a small discussion about Mary Sues and slash. Oh, and a great interview at the end with two hobbit fans sitting in the confessional talking about how hobbits are such better lovers then elves because they cuddle and they're there in the morning and then the make breakfast. Us hobbits absolutely have our priorities straight, stupid poncy elves. *snort*

Speaking of hobbits, I was Baggins-ing with the Pup today, rambling down by the river and in the woods. I wanted to go further down the path, explore a few places that I haven't seen since last summer but the Pup reached a certain point and decided to play the Gamgee to my Baggins. He very distinctly said, "We've gone far enough, it's time to go home now.", turned around and started to leave. I tried to beguile him further into the woods but he would have none of it and so we left. Now he's having nappies.

HOBBIT THEME! *sniffle* I <3 Howard Shore.

I should talk about Easter because it is my favorite holiday but I'm so distracted today. It's probably all of the Cadbury mini-eggs. They are crack in chocolate form.

Now I must daydream about having a snug hole in Hobbiton and watching all of the little Gardners grow up. They come by for tea and biscuits and I tell them stories and they tell me stories and then we go on nice long rambles that end with picking strawberries on the Hill and a lovely picnic. *happy sigh*

ETA: Now Pippin's singing! *flails*

A couple of things. First, realized that we're living in the Mirrorverse. You know, that universe on Star Trek where Spock has a beard and everyone is evil? Yeap, that's where we are. I have come to this conclusion because the G.W. Bush administration is obviously the Mirrorverse representation of the Bartlett Administration portrayed on The West Wing. True, I don't know as much about the high-level White House advisors in our current administration but the strange, mirror differences between G.W. and Bartlett are telling.

So, obviously, the universe of The West Wing will go on to found the United Federation of Planets and journey the galaxy and our universe will become the one where Spock has a beard. It all makes so much sense now.

Put together my first themed mix about a month ago. Have shared it with a few but now would like to share it with all. Unfortunately, I don't have the tracks here on my work computer so there won't be any YSI-ing but, well, just enjoy. =D

Got my Sam action figure yesterday. Yay! Now Frodo and Bilbo and Sam are sitting on my computer desk, telling each other stories and planning their next Great Adventure. All they lack are Merry and Pippin to liven things up a bit.

Word Origin of the Day: Relief - A raised design on the surface of an object is so called from the Italian root verb rilevare, meaning "to raise." With a related background, the Latin compound verb relevare means "to raise again," which ended up in Middle English as releve before acquiring the modern spelling. In this form, the word usage - meaning "assistance" - gained a different application, inspired by the concept of replacement of need.

Well, it appears that I didn't work on crack!fic after all. Instead I went and wrote up the last part of the first chapter of my ongoing hobbit-fic. Pippin just wouldn't let me string him on for one more single moment. Sorry that it took me so long to get this out Pip, I promise that I love you just as much as the other hobbits. Really, I do!

The morning has dawned fair and bright, a fitting memorial to one of the most influential days in hobbit history.

I, like Bilbo and Frodo, am having an outrageous case of wanderlust today. The world is just such an interesting place and there is so much to see and do. It wouldn't be the anniversery of the Baggins' Birthday if one was not infected with an unhobbit-like desire to go forth and see faraway lands and travel through dangerous and exciting territory.

Adventures would, of course, be better if cheesecake were summarily provided to all eager adventurers, but the lack of cake of any kind will not slacken my willing feet.

May everyone's day be fair and delightful. Happy Hobbit Hugs for all!

Hee, sorry for the caps, but I can't control my excitement. Just spent the morning in Ann Arbor with the wonderful, beautiful, amazing, eloquent [livejournal.com profile] shirebound and [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr. We talked and we laughed and we exchanged hobbity hugs and it was a wonderful thing. I was so nervous beforehand. *blush* My shy gene kicked in about a week ago but the minute I walked into that lobby and saw them it all evaporated away. Hobbit fans really are some of the greatest people anywhere.

I still can't believe I met them! They're like fandom celebrities (at least to me;-) and though I may not have said much I adored sitting there and just soaking it all in. I am no fully in support of constructing The Shire Commune post haste because we all need more hobbits in our lives.

After leaving the mini-Moot (or the A2 Hobbit Bash) I raced over to have lunch with [livejournal.com profile] hlgraban who may not be a hobbit fan but is still one of the greatest people I know;-). She gave me boxes and boxes of Christmas Peeps, along with scone mix and tea. And may I just say that the gingerbread flavored Peeps are delicious.

Oh SQUEE! This has been the perfect day.

ETA: And now I have to go and friend a whole bunch of authors (who I'd heard of and loved but hadn't friended because I'm lazy). Just a general warning to fandom at large;-).

I've been writing up a storm (for me) lately. Bit by bit words and ideas are coming together and here, for your reading pleasure, is the next part of my growing collection of hobbit ficlets. Here is Frodo after Weathertop.

(BTW, to those people who want more of the Crazy Adventures in the Multiverse, I'll have the next part up soon).

I've finished part two of chapter one of the new story I've been writing. Yay! I'm so happy. It has a title now, as well (heehee!). Critique to your heart's content;-).

I've begun work on a bit of a plot bunny that's been chewing at me for a while. I've just finished the first bit and thought I'd share it out. Let me know what you think and any advice or constructive crticism you could give would be most appreciated.
