I go away for the weekend and everything goes to hell in a handbasket.

Actually ... not so much;-). I just felt like saying that. This momentary insanity brought to you by my overly large and rambunctious ego.

Well, aren't I in a silly mood this morning.

Not much to report weekend-wise. Helped the Da rake up leaves in their backyard. My arms are still sore from that one. Saw Sahara which is a great, wonderful, fun movie. It is everything National Treasure wanted to be and wasn't. The adventure is a whole lot of fun and Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn have just about the best buddy-chemistry I've ever seen on the silver screen. If the movie suffers it's only from the lack of a good, strong central villain. Indiana Jones was really lucky to have the Nazis to fight, they're always good villains.

My hair gets greyer with every single passing day. I suppose I'll have to start dying my hair and then one day, when I'm sixty or so, I'll just stop and everyone will be surprised by how I went grey 'over night'. Oy.

The National Brownfields Assocation is holding their annual conference in Denver this year. When the time comes to fight Randall Flagg I'm sure we'll all be grateful to have a bunch of tree-hugging environmentalists on our side.

aw, fish porn isn't that much hell. It just scars [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth a little bit :)

Yay good movies! But you have a good point, Indy did have all the luck with his villians.

*sigh*
There's a reason I'm about ready to give up on this whole chemistry grad school thing and go to law school, study environmental policy, and kick some ass.

Oh fish porn. There are so many ways in which the internets has broadened and 'enriched' my life.

Nobody can beat the Nazis for evil. If you want to have a villain done right it never hurts to make him one.

Dude, I know. There's a part of me that kind of hopes that gas prices keep on rising and force the government and automakers to find new and innovative ways to power transportation.

Oh yeah. Everytime I see the news whining about prices going up I say "good." Seriously. We pretty much have the cheapest gas in the world, gas prices haven't gone up at the same rate as just about anything else (food, clothes, etc). American's are recklessly irresponsible about not buying/driving fuel efficient vehicles and not carpooling, or driving places they could just as easily walk/bike/take public transit to. It drives me batty and if high gas prices force a few of us to *think* then I say let 'em climb.
Oil is not an unlimited resource. We are not going to find much when we go rip apart Alaska. We use it for so many things and.....guh

sorry. you pushed my rant button. I'll try to climb off the soapbox before I fall off and hurt myself.

Rant away, buddy, rant away. I shudder to think of what it's finally going to take to make the majority of the population wake up and realize that there is a real problem that needs to be solved. Shoot, Teddy Roosevelt recognized the importance of natural resources and he was president nearly a century ago!

It saddens me to think that we live in a nation of morons.
