Am sick. It's not a very bad sick, just an icky, 'want to sit on couch and watch TV' sort of sick. Good news, throat isn't as sore; bad news, I can't concentrate on anything for more then 30 seconds. Hee! That means I'm even more random then usual!;-)

La la la Olympics.

Ugh

Thank goodness for caffeine. It makes the Monday morning work thing semi-bearable. Must resist urge to put my head down on my desk and fall asleep. Bleh.

Spent Sunday evening watching the Olympics. Boy is that entertaining. I'll watch anything, beach volleyball, gymnastics, rowing, fencing, you name it and I'm there. The sheer athleticism is overwhelming and the gratuitous eye candy of the men's swimming events is greatly appreciated.

So tired ... *snore*

I loved this Saturday. The weather was gorgeous and it was chock full of wonderful things, things that were so wonderful that even though it's now 3:31 Sunday morning I can't fall asleep because I'm still on a happy little high.

In the morning I watched the Olympics, I saw the US women beat the Brazilian women in soccer and discovered that soccer is actually rather exciting to watch. I also saw some fencing, a little synchronized diving and a very little golf.

In the afternoon I took the Pup out with me to the Great Lakes Folk Festival, which was brilliant. Admission was free, the music was great and the people were unfailingly polite. I just loved walking the streets, listening hearing all sorts of different music float through the air (celtic, tejano, arabic, various fiddle traditions and that was only in the hour and a half I spent there!), soaking up the atmosphere and the sun and letting the Pup be adored and pampered by his new admirers. He is a charmer, after all;-).

Then, in the evening, I went over to [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr's place and with her and Her Sister spent a companionable, hillarious evening eating pizza and watching movies, videos and things. I met Queen Zippo, I saw young!Dom in videos of Hetty Wainthrop Investigates (and OMGosh, that Janet is a cold bitch!), was introduced to The Hobbit video game (so cute!) and we all watched The Faculty and marveled at its many hidden layers. Dr. Stanley is this close to coming and taking Baylor away, and I think I'm not far behind (though I'm not in nearly as much danger as [livejournal.com profile] oselle is;-).

I've been sitting at the computer, listening to the beautiful mixes that Baylor so kindly gifted to me this evening. I now own both Birthright mixes on CD and the haunting Requiem for the Ring: and Other Echoes of Middle-earth. And no, of course I'm not just sitting here waiting to hear Billy Boyd sing Hit Me Baby, One More Time, of course not ...

*sob* Into the West never fails to make me weep.
