Woke up this morning not wanting to get out of bed. It was supposed to rain last night and when I woke up I knew it hadn't (don't ask me how, I had the A/C on all night, I couldn't have heard it if it had). Laying there I couldn't deal with another day that was hot and sunny. I was all tapped out.

Happily it has since rained. Oh clouds, how I love you.

Watched Bones while I was doing some prep class homework. It was pretty much the only interesting thing on. I enjoyed it. It wasn't great. For all of their vaunted insight and intelligence it took everyone on the show much too long to begin suspecting who the killer was and I was three steps ahead, which was annoying. I like my shows to not be quite so obtuse. The writing was a tad cardboard at times and the characterization of the main female was overdrawn but the acting was good and the production values were high. David Boreanaz's role fit all of his actorly strengths and he was very good in it. I'll probably continue to watch because it's something to do while the laundry is washing. Not must see TV but not bad.

House was a lot of fun. For a season premiere it wasn't terribly exciting, very much a standard disease of the week sort of episode. There were some very nice character moments. The reason this show is so engrossing is because it treats the viewers as if they can understand subtleties of writing and acting. They don't feel the need to hit you over the head or flash neon signs or anything like that. So the plots aren't always that engaging but the characters give you lots and lots of things to enjoy.

Thank goodness House hasn't lost his edge. He's still sarcastic and brilliant and extremely fucked up. To be fair, everyone in the show is a little messed up but House really takes the cake. There were some killer scenes and the end was nice and juicy. All in all I was most satisfied.

So, you know how I felt like I was actively getting worse at this LSAT thing? Apparently I was being a little hard on myself as my score went up 5 points on the prep test I took on Monday. If it goes up by two more points I'll get a free ride to the local law school, which poses me with a bit of a dilemma, low cost or prestige? Thankfully I don't have to decide anything until all of the applications have been processed.

My da's a good guy. He bought me a scone this morning. I don't think he knows that I'm dieting so how can I refuse? It's sitting there, taunting me with its carby goodness. mmmmmm Sometimes evil is very tasty.

Our rain that threatened last night but never came musta jumped across the lake and attacked you instead. Glad it made you happy!

One of these days I'm going to succomb and watch this House thing, aren't I?

Hurray for your LSAT score going up! See, told you you were the awesome! And good luck on the potentially tough decision - I had something similar when I was choosing colleges and it isn't easy.

Eat the score already :) One scone can't hurt and it'll sure be tasty (plus at least my scone recipe isn't very high in fat...)

No rain for you? That's not fair. Silly weather.

House is fun. If Ron Livingston shows up like some have reported then you will most definitely have to succumb.

You're so the greatest. *big, big hug*

Except when you're trying to tempt me. Stop tempting me! Fine, fine, fine, I'll eat the scone. You don't have to twist my arm. ;-)

It's okay, we've had about 6 storms in the last week and a half and my roommate's closet leaks like whoa and the landlord is dragging his heels in fixing it because "it only leaks when there's a hard storm" so missing one rain does not the end of the world make.

I thought Ron was just supposed to be in the first episode this season...hmmm...guh. It's on Fox on Tuesdays? Does Lost start tonight? (I'm so aware of tv...)

Hey, I didn't give you the scone! :) Was it tasty?

Well then, the weather wasn't so silly after all.

He wasn't on last night. I'm pretty sure I would've noticed. Will have to keep my eyes peeled. In related news, I knwo for a fact that Rick Warden will show up on Rome this week. Excellent. *steeples fingers*

Lost starts up next week. Very exciting.

It was very tasty. You were right, of course.

Go for cost AND prestige if possible, but if not, go for low cost. I think you and I learned the hard way that "prestige" is not all its cracked up to be. Go with whoever you'll learn the most practical knowledge from- that's really the MOST important.

School is keeping me insanely busy as well, in addition to the myriad other things going on in my life. I feel quite shaky and stressed today, and have resorted to chocolate twice. Oy.

No time for exercise at all lately. this sucks.

House was good, wasn't it? Only caught the very end of Bones, and heard something about making up for all the people he's killed as a sniper- and thought, oh, so David Boreanaz is playing up THAT role again. Hm, some things will never change. Shook my head, and went on to House, with bowl of comfort popcorn, and homework at the ready.

How's your health? Just wondering, was worried about you!

Well, prestige does all depend on what I want to do after law school. The better the school I attend the more likely I'll be to find a law type job afterwards. Or, at least, that's what I hear.

I have other things to say about your situation and I think that I'll save them for your journal. ;-)

David Boreanaz is definitely chanelling some Angel in his new role. He's not really the main character, though, and I think he's having a lot more fun with it. No brooding for the new Avenger.

Health's doing good. No attacks in a bit, so that's nice. It's all rather aggravating. Bleh.

I saw the trailer for Bones. It looks a lot like a show we have over here called "Waking the Dead", only glossier.

It certainly is glossy. I've never seen Waking the Dead, only read little synopses from BBC America, but they do have their similarities. Now I feel the urge to really compare and contrast.

I'm glad to hear the Dr. visit went well!! Good job on the LSAT. Have you decided what type of law you want to practice? That might also factor into which school you choose. I would go with the school that would give you the best education in the type of law you choose to practice. Good luck with the applications!!! I hope all is going well and I miss you! Hope you can come to the Halloween party this year!
Hugs!
