Jul. 25th, 2005 12:17 pmThe weather's been crazy this weekend. There was a really, really big storm that blew through here yesterday morning. Cut off my power, had me all freaked out because I was half awake and it was thundering and there was lightening and the trees were blowing around in the wind. I woke up enough to close my windows but not enough to notice that the electricity had gone out. I slept through church, it was unfortunate.
Then it got hot, hot, hot and it looks to be staying that way for a while. There goes my electric bill, spiking again. Grrrrr. Don't even have camping to look forward to this weekend because the Da had a prior commitment he had conveniently forgotten about. It's only a week delay but, still, I was looking forward to some time off.
Bitch, bitch, bitch. Moan, moan, moan, I know. I'm pathetic. =D The Big Lug thinks we should use our joint movie gift card to go see either Wedding Crashers or The Island. I informed him that I'm anti-Michael Bay movies. He informed me that The Island was filmed in Detroit, a fact I had conveniently relegated to the scrap yard portion of my brain. Considering how much random info I have packed in there it takes a special kind of info to get shoved into the scrap yard. Detroit + Sean Bean + Djimon Honsou + Steve Buscemi + Ewan MacGregor = I might have to see The Island. However Scarlett Johanson + Michael Bay = I'm extremely trepidatious. But, dude, Detroit!
I'm kind of in love with Entourage. Last night they had Dale Dye teaching Vince how to scuba dive. Next week the gang is going to ComiCon. Be still my geeky l'il fangirl heart.
I'm also really, really, a lot in love with Justice League and the season finale they aired on Saturday night. I don't have words enough to express my love. It was All Batman, All the Time and I was in heaven.
Finally, let us meme. There's that top 5 list thing going around so ask me to rank anything and I will attempt to do so. Have at it.

Date: 2005-07-25 05:00 pm (UTC)This list brought to you by the American Psycho: Patrick Bateman action figure"

Date: 2005-07-25 06:12 pm (UTC)In no particular order:
* Easy Company. Any and all of our boys need to be represented in this particular format. Generic paratrooper action figures need not apply. They would need to be equipped with ODs and Class A's as well as specific little accessories for each guy, like brass knuckles for Joe Toye, a little bottle of Vat 66 for Nix, a rosary for Skip, etc.
* Us as our RHAR alter-egos.
* BBC's Pride & Prejudice. I need a Colin-Firth-as-Mr.-Darcy plzkthz.
* The cast of Lost. Of all of the action figures on this list this is the one category that will probably appear on real toy shelves at a store near you one of these days.
* More X-Files representation. It is a crime against humanity and fangirls everywhere that an Alex Krycek action figure has not yet been created.
That's a good beginning. We need to get someone to work on these post haste.

Date: 2005-07-26 04:02 pm (UTC)Top 5 Superheroes (in no particular order):
* Batman. He is and always will be my favorite superhero. End of story.
* Buffy. She not only slays vampires but she also saves the world on a regular basis. Plus she's quippy and doesn't take crap from anyone.
* Professor Xavier. Because he'll kill you with his mind. And he looks and sounds like Patrick Stewart. mmmmm ... that voice ...
* The Justice League (as incarnated in the latest cartoon). I love them all (except Superman) and they entertain me greatly. They only warrant one spot in the list because I don't know that much about each character individually.
* Rogue. In my head she's kind of a combination of movie and cartoon. A mature Anna Paquin who has had the misfortune of acquiring her more flashy powers in some sort of tragic accident. She has a big heart and thick, brittle shell around it to keep her safe.
