So I was really wonked out yesterday. Came into work and immediately started with the headache, fell asleep at 6PM (which is only worthy of notice because I had to do my laundry last night so getting up extra early was necessary). Came into work this morning and got a headache, too. Empirically this must mean that I am allergic to work. ;-)

I am still heartily amused by how entertaining the weekend was. 23+ hours of The X-Files, various thought-provoking discussions, another viewing of Batman Begins and after returning home there were fireworks to see with the Big Lug. I love the yearly fireworks displays and my brother was so cute. *nose wrinkle* We met up at the park and he was all, "I feel like I haven't seen you in a while" even though it had only been a week. I kinda really love that Lug.

I got Firefly: The Complete Series from [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth for my birthday and I'm so excited! I can't wait to dive in and see all of the episodes that I missed when it first ran and prepare to see the movie in September. *steeples fingers* eeeeeexcellent

Ooooo the Alabama quarter has Helen Keller on it. That's pretty cool.

I think I'll go get some falafel for lunch. That sounds pretty good.

hey you! wanted to ask you something! got any big plans for Saturday, July 16th? Would you like to come down to AA and accompany me to the Saline Celtic Festival? I can only go till about 6, then have to go to my parents' for dad-duty. I was thinking to go with other ppl, but you know what, this really isn't there cup of tea... it's more of a nerd-thing, that only ppl like you and me can fully appreciate, right? Anyway... I feel bad asking you to drive down here and all consider the price of gas and your work circumstances, but I would really like to go! Interested?

Oooo, Saline Celtic Festival. Definitely count me in. They must have planned to fit my schedule because it's the weekend right after I get paid. It should be loads of fun and this year I promise to not get worn out before the music listening portion of the afternoon is over. ;-)

Yippee! Someone to go with, who can truly appreciate it! yay, I'm so happy! I'm going to call my people (aka Mom) and have them buy me two tix for us. I asked her a few weeks ago to buy me 3, but I'm sure she forgot, what with my grandma showing her senility again and all that jazz... Ugh. family. So glad you can come though!!! Be in AA by noon, is that ok? I'm only free to go to this thing till 6, but we probably won't even get there till 1ish at least. And you know, if we get tired of it, there's always other things to do, places to go, etc. ;)

What is 'falafel'? I've always wanted to know. Us Brits have crap cuisine, so you won't be too surprised to find I don't know what it is. It's a nice word though. fa la fel. Nice sound to it. Sounds...Greek? Something like that. Yum yum.
x.

Do not despair, I would've never known what a falafel was either if not for a King Arthur computer game I played way back when I was a kid. =D

*dons instructor voice* Falafel is a Middle Eastern dish that is composed of crushed chick peas and various spices that are formed into balls and then pan fried. It is traditionally served with a spicy kind of tahini sauce and pita bread. It is quite a bit tastier then one would expect.

Brits don't have the crappiest of cuisines. Ya'll have brought the world scones and biscuits and Cadbury chocolate, three things for which I am eternally grateful.
