Mar. 18th, 2005 12:31 pmBeen feeling very talkative this week. Sorry for all the spamming.
Ate at a chinese buffet for lunch. They had broccoli in their stir-fry. This reminded me that broccoli is not chinese, it's italian.
I was also reminded of a chinese buffet I ate at in So. Texas. It was in a town called Weslaco and was the only chinese place I'd found in over a year. I was introduced to it by a nice couple of the Winter Texan variety (older people who spent their winters where it was warm but left before it became too warm). Ate there a whole lot as that was around the time I became ill and couldn't do much beyond sitting and eating. The food was good and they had all sorts of random desserts, including a freezer filled with ice cream that you could scoop into your own bowl.
I miss South Texas sometimes. Especially on days like this, cold and grey and snowing (just a little). It was a good time of my life, difficult and rewarding.
Had a dream the other night about the end of the world. Nothing much happened, the Mum watched tv and I decided to make pancakes. Then there was artillery sounds from down the hill (somehow my parents' house was on top of a big hill) and I told the Wrestler to go load the guns (my grandpa's old .22s). Then there was a whole bit where I demanded to be taught how to shoot but a small town sheriff came out and told me I couldn't shoot those weapons on a residential street and I was all 'It's the end of the world and my brother is going to teach me how to shoot a gun, damnit!'
Oy, I miss the Wrestler too, all far away down in Chile. I'm looking forward to him coming home so that he, the Big Lug and I can finalize our plans for taking over the world.
Am utilizing my old default icon because it's appropriate. That's a picture of the Da, the Big Lug and I fishing in the boat my grandfather made. Wow, that picture is probably 20 years old by now.
