Come on, brain. This is the second week in a row you've forgotten to take the soda cans back when you've gone grocery shopping. You know as well as I do that bottle return = money. Get with the program.

Well then, let's move this away from my short-term memory problems to some more Buffy s.2
'Reptile Boy' - Written by David Greenwalt. Directed by David Greenwalt.

Wow, Dave, you sure have some issues about frat guys, don't ya? Speaking as the daughter of one, they don't all turn out like that. Granted, some of them are evil snake worshippers who sacrifice poor, stupid co-eds but others just drink their undergraduate educations away and light rocks on fire. What?! It was a thing at U-Michigan back in the day.

Though, if any of them ever did to you what you made them do to Xander I can understand the continuing trauma. That was too much for me to watch, I had to fast-forward through it.

Was this the one with the Buffy/Angel discussion where he told her about what he did to Dru? I can't remember if that was here or in 'Lie To Me'. Either way, good scene. I, just, I really like Buffy, you know?

'Halloween' - Written by Carl Ellsworth. Directed by Bruce Seth Green

Aaah, costume episode, you have spawned so much badfic. Some good fic, granted, but a whole lot more badfic.

It's the introduction of Larry! Hi Larry!

That reminds me, I forgot to point out that Jonathan's introduction was in 'Inca Mummy Girl'. He totally almost got his life sucked out of him by Xander's girlfriend. Awesome, I'd forgotten that.

Hello army!Xander. Yes, please give your jacket to Cordelia. Those are some awful nice arms you have there.

Nothing will ever beat Giles giving Ethan the smack down. mmmmm yes.

Ha! Larry got turned into a real pirate. Poor, scared not!Buffy. But the look on Spike's face when the real you reappears is priceless.

So, class, the moral of this story is not to buy your Halloween costumes from a guy with a British accent who just came into town. It just never ends well.

'Lie To Me' - Written by Joss Whedon. Directed by Joss Whedon.

The sight gag of the wannabe dressed exactly like superior!Angel is obvious yet still funny. =D

I love the end of this episode. The conversation between Buffy and Giles at the graveside is full out wonderful. It's been a joy to see their relationship evolve. *happy sigh*

I do not like, however, the fact that Willow doesn't tell Buffy that Angel had her dig up dirt on Ford. Bros before hos, honey. Your loyaly's to your friend, not her boyfriend, that's how it works. I get that you like Angel better then Ford but this passive-agressive shit has got to stop.

I'm still not completely sold on the 'I have terminal cancer' explanation but as I can't come up with a better one I won't give Joss too much grief. Ford makes a good bad guy, sympathetic yet completely selfish with a little scared vulnerability thrown into the mix. I don't feel bad that he got eaten and staked in the end, I felt for him, a little.

'The Dark Age' - Written by Dean Batali & Rob Des Hotel. Directed by Bruce Seth Green

Here we come with the Giles backstory. *satisfied sigh* That's the good stuff.

Somehow fandom/fanfiction had lead me to inaccurately remember that Buffy was upset at Giles for keeping secrets from her. That was so not the case. I love how Buffy was completely understanding of Giles and his past and that her reaction was to protect him at all costs. Yet another reminder in how fandom warps the truth.

For the record, Supernatural's demonic possessions are scarier.

So, back in 'Reptile Boy' Buffy was able to pull the chain out of the stone ceiling but here she can't break the rope that is the only thing holding her to the table while Ethan tattoos her? Sloppy, tsk.

I'm beginning to suspect that I don't like Willow. It's like my reaction to Hermione Granger all over again. The fact that she takes full credit for the Angel idea annoys me. Yes, she was the one who had the intuitive leap to the solution that saved the day but it wasn't reached in a vacuum. There was a lot of group discussion and teamwork that lead her to that point. I am quite possibly nit-picking but it doesn't change the fact that that kid is unfortunately starting to rub me the wrong way.

Well, if that ending wasn't an extremely strong allusion to the fate of the Giles/Jenny then nothing else could be. Poor Scoobs, never allowed to be happy.

I came up with the greatest law-nerd fic disclaimer last night. It's superb:

By this writing I declare my full knowledge and understanding that the intellectual properties utilized in this story are the sole possessions of [insert owners] and fully disclaim any rights, privileges, or expectations (monetary or other) that could come through the use of said properties.

I am so using that on all of my stories from now on.

I updated my SPN fic recommendations over the weekend. Check 'em out.

Off to complete the Monday chores, which include giving the Pup a bath. Fun times in my apartment, let me tell you what.

Babe, we so need to watch more Buffy together. I think I'm almost ready. Man, Season 2 Xander had it going on, too.

You know... I need to buy Season 4. I was thinking the other day that as a Season Arc, it's my least favorite, but it is chock full of kick-ass episodes. "Hush," obviously. Um... the finale, you know, with the nightmares. SO GOOD. The early days of neutered!Spike. Spike and Harmony as a couple? Xander and Harmony's catfight? OMG GILES TURNED INTO A DEMON!! So funny. Anyway, there's a lot to love there. Just not so much with the Initiative.

We so totally need to watch more Buffy together. It is a tragedy that we have not done so.

You so totally need to buy Season 4! Yeah, the whole Initiative thing was kinda meh and I've never been fond of the way Xander seems to disappear for a while there in the middle but it had some fantastic episodes. And there's nothing better then the Angel-Riley fight in the alley or the Scoobies fighting at Giles's place when he's drunk and Anya and Tara commiserate in the bathroom.

And the dreams, the dreams are just flat-out awesome.

Good times.

oh...happy memories...

You're making me all nostalgic and stuff. I do love me some Xander. And army Xander? So cool :D almost as cool as one-eyed Xander.

Well, seeing as you're the one who introduced me to Buffy and Friends in the first place, I'd say a little nostalgia is definitely called for. =D

One-eyed Xander makes me kind of sad. Whenever I see him all I can think about is him telling Buffy that her point is, "a little to the left" and *sniffle*

Obviously I still have issues that I'm trying to get over. *giggle*
