Happy Thursday! And a Happy Early VD-Day to you all! The [livejournal.com profile] baylorsrs and I will be celebrating the holiday this evening with a showing of The Accidental Husband, followed by tonight's episode of Show (which my sources tell me is titled the same as a certain Jensen Ackles movie that came out last year &<3s). It should be a very nice evening.

And, because I feel like it, here's a SPN clip I like to call "Sam and Dean Meet the Harvelles." Enjoy!

Happy Belated VD Day!

Wow, this is the first time in years that I haven't posted on the day itself. And how do I know this? Because I get a kick out of calling Valentine's Day VD Day. It's always nice to laugh at one's own jokes. ;-)

I actually spent the day with the Big Lug and one of his buddies (the Big Lug drove up from Richmond because of the 3-day weekend). We ended up driving around Detroit for most of the afternoon, which always seems to happen when I go to Detroit with the Big Lug. He just really likes the city and frequently goes there just to go there. But he did show me where this awesome panaderia is in Mexicantown so all of the aimless driving is forgiven.

And it was amusing to listen to him and his buddy (the Rockstar Social Worker) spend 15 minutes talking about hair products they use. *snorts*

We then had dinner in Ann Arbor with the Parents. The Wrestler couldn't make it because, obviously, he was spending the day with his girlfriend. Actually, funny story, when the Big Lug decided to come up he totally blanked on the fact that Saturday was a holiday, as did I when he called to see if I wanted to hang out. I suppose it's the "curse" of being single. Anyway, dinner was okay, the food was good but the Big Lug spent the entire time talking smack about the stimulus package and pretty much being a non-stop political dick. But, like I said, the food was good and the Da was paying so, all in all, it wasn't a bad evening.

Spent Friday down at FGC. [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr and I went out to see Friday the 13th (short review: standard horror movie, lots of t&a, Jared was hot, the end) and then watched Oceans 13 while the Baylor Sister and Cousin went out for their own viewing of the former. I made brownies with pink M&Ms that were quite delicious.

And that is how I spent VD Day Eve and the Day itself. Not truly in the spirit of the day, I know, but somehow I'm all right with that. Currently I would very much appreciate it if my headache would just go away. And I'd like to take a trip somewhere, but do not have the means to do so. I guess I'll just go eat some pan dulce and stare at the TV.

Happy VD-Day, mes amis!

The keywords of the day are: Protection, Protection, Protection

So, they say today is all about love or something (though I still think it's kind of weird that we celebrate romance on a day all about some guy who got fed to the lions or some such, but that's just me). As all of my boyfriends are imaginary (the very best way to be, IMHO) all my love-y dove-y schmoopy thoughts are dedicated to youse guys.

Though I'm sure ya'll won't blame me if I spend some time with my imaginary boyfriends today. They feel all neglected if I don't. *snort* ;-)

It's all snowy today, which is pretty. Unfortunately, seeing as I live in the Great White North there is no such thing as snow days. At least, not for law students. I think I might go take pictures later on, the sky is clear and blue and the snow is sparkling and it's kinda nifty in a desolate, frozen sort of way.

Finally, my top three 'movies about love' would have to be, in no particular order, Much Ado About Nothing, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Pride and Prejudice (BBC mini-series). We all have types and mine seems to be snarky, messy love that ends with hope and possibility. Feel free to share your favorites.

Happy VD Day!

Remember that on a day devoted to love and romance the use of protection is key. You never know what sorts of icky things you might pick up.

This has been a fairly good day. Woke up this morning to flowers from Nix and a virtual box of chocolates from one of you lovely people out there. Also get to make dinner for the Baylor Sister (I love to cook). It's a good day.

I love you all SO MUCH! Greatest.f-list.evar.

As I'm sure most of you know, I'm not a big fan of scmoop. My cynical, practical side just doesn't go for it. Klingon schmoop, however, makes for a great VD Day. They showed the greatest Valentine's episode of DS9 today, you know, the one with Quark wooing a Klingon woman that Worf had a crush on that ended up with lots of sex for Quark and the Klingon and the beginning of the Worf/Dax relationship. There's also a great bit with Kira and O'Brien that made me want a Miles/Keiko/Nerys threesome like nothing else. It was great. I'd hate Ron Moore a lot if he didn't bring me stuff like that.

I think this would be a perfect day to watch a lot of apocalyptic movies. It's a shame I don't have any of the Mad Max movies around, I've never seen those. Maybe some Shaun of the Dead or 28 Days Later or the original War of the Worlds. Seeing shit get blown up or zombies eating people's brains really is the best way to spend VD Day.

KISSES!
