sshhhh, I'm not here, I'm totally studying for my Fed Admin final tomorrow. Yeah.

I am heartbroken to report that I'll be missing SPN's 100th episode tomorrow night. I have a frigging final. W.T.F. I plan to dl as soon as internetly possible, but it's still very distressing. I can't wait till law school stops getting in the way of my fannish obligations.

The Da bought me new golf clubs as an early birthday present. They are very nice. It's amazing how much easier it is to golf with clubs that are made for women rather than my dad's cast-offs. One can only hope that my game will be improved by the change.

And I'll stop before I start talking about strokes and pars and handicaps. Especialy since I'm still not sure what any of that stuff means. ;-)

While procrastinating yesterday I updated my SPN Fic Recs page. All pairings (except wincest), all ratings. If you're bored between now and tomorrow you should totally go take a look.

During the updating process I realized that there is a lamentable dearth of season four recs, though the season five recs are coming along nicely. It's another indication that I really did shut down, emotionally, during the back half of that season. It was all just very hard to watch. So, if ya'll have any favorite season four-centric stories feel free to send them my way. I'm sure I missed more than a couple gems last year.

La la la, and now onto Sales. I still can't decide which class is worse, Sales or Federal Administrative Law. They've both stolen metaphorical pieces of my soul.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I've come to a rather startling conclusion.

I think I like golf. OMG

There's just something about the niggling details of perfecting the swing and hitting the ball that are tailor made to engage the obssessive drive in my head. It's strangely soothing in the same way that formating fic is, or editing cover art. And it gets me outside and active, which is always nice. It reminded me of dancing, in a strange sort of way.

I know, I know. *shakes head at self* I never thought I'd see the day where I became a golf-type person. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

This is all to say that the Da took me out to the driving range today, even though it's windy and not all that warm. He also bought me lunch, during which we spent at least 15 minutes relating various factoids that we'd learned from History Channel shows or PBS documentaries. Did you know there are parts of the Altacama Desert in South America that have been desert for 23 million years? No wonder it's the driest place on earth. There are places where the only indigenous lifeform is a kind of bacteria that grows in salt deposits. It's crazy.

Oh man, I have to remember to catch up on the episode of Kings that aired on Sunday. I missed it because of choir practice (stupid choir practice). I caught the pilot the week before and found it quite engaging. I'm having a fun time playing "Spot the Biblical Influences" and am finding the storytelling to be quite good. It's like fanfic which you all know is a pretty good commendation coming from this quarter. I rub my hands together in anticipation when I think about all of the stuff the source material has for the show to play with.

Though seeing Ian McShane and not hearing 'fuck,' 'cocksucker,' or 'cunt' come out of his mouth takes a little getting used to. But I'm willing to make the adjustment. ;-)

Have I rambled enough today? Yeah, I think I've met my quota.
