Dec. 1st, 2005 05:33 pmOMG, last night was the most over-stimulating night I've had in a long time. First there was a religious discussion that totally deserves its own post and then there was SVU and Lost.
Lots of you won't get this but some of you will so, OMG SVU WAS THE MOST VORTEX-IAN THING EVAR!!!!!11!!!! Olivia is totally a member of the RHAR now because Speirs is the hottest thing ever and they totally had sex right after she became his informant and it was all SO GREAT! Munch must have had the time of his life watching Olivia become insane. My head might not have done a 180 but it so almost did. Greatest.episode.evar. and required viewing for anyone involved in the RHAR.
Lost was great, though by that time everyone at Fangirl Central was completely insane. =D I'm intrigued by the directions in which the writers are taking Kate's character. Last night's episode didn't make me like her anymore but I have to give the writers' their due, it took some chutzpah to make her an absolute killer. It was always suspected that she had been framed or had been in the wrong place at the wrong time or had been abused by her stepfather and that's what made her a murderer but really she's just that stupid. And selfish.
Wow, she and Jack would so make the worst couple ever. He just wants to fix people and all she sees when she looks at him is poor, dead Mackenzie. Issues, upon issues, my friends. If they got together they'd end up hating each other, I'm sure. Jack can go on and try to fix Ana Lucia, she'll at least call him on his crap (and boy does she need someone to try and fix her, or help her fix herself 'cause dayumn).
The best part of the episode was everything having to do with Locke and Mr. Eko. Wow. That whole bit when Eko was telling Locke the story of Josiah and the Discovery of the Law and Locke had this look on his face like 'Oh no, he's a crazy evangelical.' and then they way his face lit up when he saw the edited film hidden in the Bible was marvelous. Locke and Eko will band together and take over the world.
There are so many charcters that I love. I squeed when Jin came out of the tent and Hurley gave him that manly thumbs up and then Sun came out and they were adorable. And then there was the part where Locke finally removed that handcuff from Jin's wrist and the look he and Michael shared (OMG I LOVE THEM) but the best part, bar none, was the end. WALT'S ON THE COMPUTER!!!!!
And we won't see another episode till January. *rages*
I found the exchange between Eko and Locke about fate and coincidence to be fascinating. How much of the coincidences of the Island were fate and how much was simple luck of the draw? I know that I, as a viewer, have taken to connecting everything and tucking all of the little clues away until they fit some greater mold but what if there isn't some overarching design? And then Mulder is abducted and Scully has their son and everything goes tits up and why oh why did you betray us all Chris Carter?!
Hold it, wait, sorry, wrongbetrayal show. Though it is true that if the Cabal were on the Island we'd be like the guys in Reign of Fire and we'd raise Aaron on stories like that but he'd be told the way things should have turned out rather then the way they did and then he'd be so disappointed when he finally got to see it all after the Big Rescue.
Yes, I'm crazy, why do you ask?
ETA: Goonies was on today and it takes place in Astoria. I did not know/remember this. The world, or my head, is going to implode any minute now.

Date: 2005-12-01 11:26 pm (UTC)Generally I just find Kate's pain to be so uninteresting. She's selfish and she bores me. Bleh.

Date: 2005-12-01 11:32 pm (UTC)2. OMGWTFBLACKSTALLION: Stupidest plot device ever. Unless they are going to explain later WHY the black horse was important to her. I mean, it didn't keep her from doing anything, or force her into a decision or anything. It just ran into the road and looked Significant, and then gave her an excuse to run around the jungle and get her grundies in a knot and then have a Meaningful Moment with Sawyer (lifted directly from Shannon/Sayid's Previously On... moment) at the end.
3. I do believe Fangirl Central makes it all good.
4. The Vortex guides our path. Did you see Ross as the submissive half of the kinky bondage murderer couple on Bones Monday night?

Date: 2005-12-02 12:07 am (UTC)2. OMGWTFBLACKSTALLION!!! (BTW, that needs an icon;-) I saw someone in the Wilds of LJ remark that she thought it was supposed to be a unicorn and that would make Kate's path to Mary Sue'hood complete.
3. The only thing Fangirl Central is missing is you. And a couple of our other crazy friends. But mostly you.
4. I did see Ross (thank goodness for fangirls with VCRs) but the show is so awful that we ended up ff-ing through most of it. The episode suffered from a severe under use of Our Boy (who has filled out quite nicely. Not quite Our Skinny Li'l Liebgott anymore but that's fine just fine)

Date: 2005-12-02 02:42 am (UTC)3. I think I miss Fangirl Central most on Thursdays.
4. Yeah, it's a bad, bad show. But Ross! All cross-armed and glowery with his dark, dark eyes and pretty, pretty mouth...

Date: 2005-12-02 02:24 am (UTC)LOL! I kept waiting for Alec Ramsey to come running out of the jungle. Of course, he'd have had to smack down on Kate for touching *his* untamed wild stallion. Could be a fun moment.

Date: 2005-12-02 01:54 am (UTC)But there was a preview for next week's episode! Are they really holding off until January. Gah, I don't think I can stand the torment.
Hee. Jack hauling Shirtless!Sawyer back into his bed was my favorite part of the ep. If ever the internets have imploded from the slashiness.
Kate is a butthead, for lack of a better word. Selfish and stupid, and she really ruined her life, didn't she? That being said, I liked her little conversation with Sayid (and love Sayid in general).
So, what incident do you think Michael started by typing to Walt on the computer?

Date: 2005-12-02 10:17 pm (UTC)Kate, Kate, Kate. This episode just confirmed all of the opinions we already had about her.
Sayid can never have enough love. =D
I think it's going to be a crazy incident that might have to do with a full out battle with the Others. Michael's not going to let them keep his son for long, especially now that they have all of those pretty, pretty guns.

Date: 2005-12-02 02:21 am (UTC)Dude, why do they torture us like this. The promos for upcoming stuff were just too good, and we have to wait and wait and wait now. Grr!
I loved that little moment between Jin and Michael when Jin got the handcuff off and walked past Michael. Those two are awesome!
I also loved when Eko said "I'll have to start at the beginning" and then went back thousands of years, and the look on Locke's face as he's listening to the story and wondering WTF?

Date: 2005-12-02 10:19 pm (UTC)The actors have been doing such a great job. Lost is effectively spoiling me for any other tv show. It's all about the little moments and the interactions between them.
I have so much love for them all. Except, perhaps, Evangeline but Dom seems to love her so I won't write her off quite yet. ;-)

Date: 2005-12-02 10:21 pm (UTC)I swear, after the swirlings of the Vortex that I've experienced this week I will never, ever believe that anything is unconnected ever again. Coincidence? Bah.

He moved into the bunker
Where Locke liked to hunker
And now they are into art deco.
