Welcome to a new work week. And welcome to increasingly uncomfortable temperatures in the great state of Michigan. However, the high temperatures make the prospect of camping at the end of the week that much more delightful.

You know, this is going to be an awfully long week.

My favorite coworker called in today. That was fun. She's been out for the past three weeks because she was puking and then she was admitted to the hospital and then they had to do surgery because they thought she had an abcess on her colon but really her appendix had burst. It was good to hear from her and good to know that she's doing well. Moral of this story? When you're puking for more then two days go to the doctor because something is obviously wrong with you. Please don't wait for a week and only go in because you're so dehydrated that your organs are starting to shut down. Seriously.

Okay, yeah, that was a little gross. One more piece of advice. If at a picnic and they're serving free hamburgers made from pre-packaged frozen patties, please, for the love of all that's good and gastrointestinal, please do not eat them. No amount of ketchup and mustard can make them anywhere approaching good.

And I have officially grossed you all out. My work here is done. =D

That's right! I forgot that I wanted to mention that I finally found out what happened to my old security blanket (aka blanky). I've been curious for years why blanky disappeared at some point in my late childhood/early adolescence. I assumed that it had disappeared as things seem to do in my parents' household if you take your eyes off them for more then a month (for example: my old cabbage patch kids). Come to find out, the Da threw it away years ago. I'm rather amused. See, this is why none of us let him touch our stuff. ;-)

For those of you who are the camping type; what is your favorite thing to make/eat when camping? S'mores don't count, they're a given.

FYI: Seriously guys, if you want a postcard, let me know. I love sending people mail. It makes me happy.

SMORES! :)
I'm a trail mix fiend, but that's more hiking than camping...

Corn roasted over the fire can be really good! And I've had pasta work. And cous-cous with lentils. And hot dogs.

And I'm sorry about your blanky. I have to admit mine is *still* on my bed.

S'mores and hot dogs on sticks. Yummmee!! I'm looking forward to both of these things myself soon.

Please to send a post card. I will do the same!

Also: Ick. But thanks for the advice.

I want a postcard! I love getting mail. Though the sister will raise an eyebrow and say, "Who do you know in Mihegan?" :P

Hmmm, corn roasted over the fire. That has possibilities. Cous-cous would also be good but I'm afraid that it might be a little haute cuisine for the Da and the Big Lug. But corn I can work with. Thanks!

My poor blanky. *sniffle* If I had known years ago I probably would have been heartbroken but I've had so much time to get used to it being gone that I can look at it all with a little more equanimity.

And I still sleep with a teddy bear. His name is Ithil. Ssssshh. ;-)

The more postcards the merrier! Yay!

But be sure to email me your new address. I only have your old uni address and I don't think that'll quite work anymore. ;-)

Do you really need to eat anything but smores while camping?

Actually, my favorite food while camping is breakfast food. LOVE breakfasts outdoors. Blueberry pancakes and bacon, or scrambled eggs, toast and sausage.... hmmm... *drools*

I want to go camping!

And then of course, there are the fireside chats. Inebriation and being amongst large groups of friends at these fireside chats makes for fun and interesting times... like the time we were playing Truth or Dare at C&D's house a couple years ago....

Absolutely not. But you never know what crazy ideas my dad'll get into his head about proper nutrition and stuff like that. Parents, sheesh. ;-)

Wow, you go all out and fancy with the blueberry pancakes while camping. Us poor rednecks will just be partaking of the Jiffy-mix variety.

Aaaah, the campfire inebriation. You know, we should plan a big camping trip next summer, the A2, Lansing and Ludington contingents should all go up North somewhere. That would be loads of fun.

You should check out this site I just found. Talk about inexpensive group Halloween activity.

yeah, that does sound like fun... never do know what next summer will bring!

actually, thinking to possibly go on a camping weekend with Sean to Petoskey State Park. Remember that trip we took a few years back? We stayed there. It was one of the prettier places... but we'll see whether or not this happens. many factors involved, unfortunately...

I absolutely remember the summer camping trip we took. Petoskey State Park is gorgeous and if you and Sean go in September there'll probably be much fewer clouds then there were when we all went up there.

Yeah, plans are funny. It's kind of like my U-M ticket idea that I never did anything about. Brains can be chronically sieve-like.

A trip up north is a lovely idea! Unfortunately I will still have classes then, but we can work around it. ;)
