liptonrm_backupWent to bed extremely early last night. Not quite sure why. Slept through Empire which isn't such a big deal as the show is pretty but kinda stupid. Didn't do laundry which is a bigger deal but woke up early so at least have clean what needs to be clean.
Mum called twice while I was sleeping. I finally woke up and called her back or else otherwise she probably would have called the apartment manager or the police. Thank goodness I caught her in time.
Now, for some weekend pic spam.
First off, here are some of the pictures I was able to snap of the 4th of July fireworks I saw. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be to take decent pictures but these turned out pretty well.
Now, for the Celtic Festival Attendance Story from this past weekend.
We got there and it was raining cats and dogs. The remnants of Hurricane Dennis were making things wet, wet, wet.
Thankfully, that didn't keep us more dedicated attendees away.
Even the cops were getting into the spirit of things.
Heather and I dubbed this chunk of field the Fens of Saline. Thankfully we were in a magnanimous mood and did not feel the need to offer any pagan sacrifices to the bog.
We escaped the rain by ducking into the pub tent. We obviously weren't the only people who had that idea.
The rain eventually let up and were were able to see some more of the sights. Like the bagpipe brigade ...
and the border collie puppies (it's only a shame that they weren't doing the herding demonstrations. Those are always fun) ...
and the Highland cattle (hey, I have a weird affinity for cows, what can I say).
There were also people participating in Highland Games, like the caber toss.
Finally, we ended the day with a Bagpipe parade. Such fun.
For those of you who haven't yet heard, actor James Doohan, the man who played Mr. Scott in the original Star Trek television show and movies, passed away this morning at the age of 85. He will be sorely missed. Article from CNN found here.

Date: 2005-07-20 08:24 pm (UTC)Hee, that's kinda funny. Actually, it's been hot and sunny at the Celtic Festival in years past. I think I enjoy it better with rain. Strangely enough people are more affable and I don't get tired as quickly. Rain should be the norm. =D
