Am feeling surprisingly chipper this morning even though I slept like crap last night and woke up with a headache. But chipper. I am a strange, strange creature. =D

The power went out in my apartment last night at around 9PM or so. I started having flashbacks to the Great Blackout of 2003 and bemoaning the fact that I had no candles. How can I not have any candles?! When the End Times come I must be prepared in all ways possible. Thankfully the power came back on before the sun went down (thank you summer!) and I had a little battery operated fan to keep me company. It's a very good fan. *pets*

It's hot and I want to go to the beach. I should find out if I have any extra vacation time that I can burn off and then I can grab a tent and the Pup and spend a long weekend out at Lake Michigan. That would be wonderful.

Maybe I shouldn't have taken two Excedrin and then drank a 24 oz. Diet Coke. I might be a little overly caffeinated and scattered at the moment. Lalala ;-)

Blame [livejournal.com profile] shirebound and a little thread over here.

Dear Diary:

Last night was awful. It was scorchingly hot and stuffy in that crappy motel room and nobody could sleep. Then, just as I was starting to drift off, it started to thunder and Casey started shrieking. I've never wanted to pound something more in my life. I'm also thinking that maybe I shouldn't have taught Casey quite so many spanish swear words. Well, at least I didn't make him a smoker like
someone did.

Told Zeke that I could drive if he was too exhausted. After all, he was the one who had to calm Casey down during the storm. He just glared at me and got in the driver's seat. I swear, he's worse then my brother. I'm starting to think that this whole excursion was a really bad idea.

Zeke just took his shirt off again. I'm starting to remember why this was a really, really good idea. Guuuuuuuuh

Word Origin of the Day: On The Lam - Although now obsolete, "lam" was once used as a verb to mean "to hit" or "to beat." One form of this background still exists, as the English word "lambaste." In its original form, this phrase was "to take it on the lam," referring to "a beating or other form of physical punishment." One explanation is that "on the lam" followed as the result of such painful activity, as in running away to excape further harm. Another possibility is a simple slang variation on the phrase, "beat it," another phrase used with the same meaning. In this case words with the same meaning replaced each other.

I must continue for we haven't even met Krycek yet! Or had to run for our lives! And Zeke must take off his shirt many, many more times!

I was just finding myself musing on your upcoming winter diaries. I suspect the GTO also lacks a working heater, and that there may be the need to huddle together for warmth and blow into each other's hands. Also, y'all're broke most of the time. I bet those skanky motels don't have heat, either.

...And now I'm back to channeling "Detour"

Absolutely. There must be much cuddling. And soon there won't be money enough for sleazy motel rooms with double beds so we'll have to get the one with the big queen sized bed and, of course, no one can sleep on the floor because that would be disgusting.

mmmmm ... bed sharing ... *drool*

I actually have never camped along Lake MI before but the park we usually go to for day trips is in Grand Haven. I just really have this urge, you know? =D

*hugs you back*

I love Grand Haven. I love the fountian and the shops along the waterfront.

The campground where my trailer is, isn't by the lake. Though there is a park not far from there that IS by it.

Check it out.

That's a very good question.

Once upon a time there was a woman by the name of [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr who saw a little movie called The Faculty and didn't like the ending. In response to this she wrote an opus by the name of Birthright (http://home.comcast.net/~baylorsr/faculty.html) that resolved the story in a much more satisfactory way. The chief protagonists of this story and the movie upon which it is based are Casey and Zeke, played by Elijah Wood and Josh Hartnett, respectively.

This was the beginning of a sort of madness that has engulfed a particular corner of fandom to which I am tangentially connected. It's quite the trip.

Seriously, though, the story is extremely good and always highly recommended by your's truly.

You stop looking at my boyfriend with his shirt off!

Also, wanna come over tonight to watch MTV Movie Awards, or maybe tomorrow instead to watch scary 28 Days Later? Not to be confused with 28 Days, staring one Aragorn, son of Arathorn.

Hey! It's a free country! I can look at whoever I wanna look at! </ channeling Cartman>

Unfortunately I have a hair appt. tonight so must miss out on the wonderful insanity of watching the MTV Movie Awards at Fangirl Central. However, zombies would make my Friday evening just that much better. Oh the carnage.
