May. 19th, 2005 11:29 amGood morning all. Let's get right down to business.
So, last night's Lost was just about the greatest thing ever. There was suspense and intrigue and drama and dogs and resolutions and build-ups and the raft sailed away! It was all so freakishly crazy and wonderful.
Delenn, errr, Danielle (sorry, it's a bad habit that I promise to break myself of;-) and Locke are totally the power couple on the island. They'll either make great allies or wickedly wonderful adversaries. I can't wait to find out which.
I can't believe they're thinking of hiding in that freaking hatch! If Walt says don't open it then don't freaking open it!!! AAAAAAAAHHH!!!! I have to admit, first sight of that column of black smoke and I would've been hiding in the jungle, no questions asked. I wouldn't have even waited to see the raft away, I would've just run away and found some small, craggy little hole to hide in until the danger passed. If they're not going to fight then they'd better scatter.
Morale Officer!Dom is quite possibly the cutest thing evar. Locke was right, he is sweet but, you know, that boys got layers. One minute he's the goofy has-been rocker and the next he's shotting Ethan in the rain is all I'm sayin'.
I can't get over what a wonderful episode that was. I was completely wrapped up in everything and, I have to admit, I teared up when Vincent tried to follow Walt on the raft. It was such a dogly loyal thing to do, silly and brave and wonderful. I'm amazed that Walt was able to leave Vincent with Shannon with such quiet dignity, I'm 25 years old and I don't think I could leave my dog behind so easily.
I'm not sure which moment was sweeter, Walt leaving Vincent with Shannon or Sun and Jin reconciling. Wow, I love them together and singly. I look at all of these characters and am amazed by how much they've come to mean to me over the season. We have good writing and amazing acting to thank for that. Sure there have been some pacing problems, especially with the episodes in the middle of the season, but when this show is good it's very, very good. And, just think, this is only its first season.
Next week is going to tear my heart out, I just know it. I can't wait.
Seeing as
hiyacynth got some frightening news last night I have declared that today is "Entertain Cyn Day" so that if she has a chance to come on line she can find something to lift her spirits. As my first offering I give you this fine audio recording.

Date: 2005-05-19 04:41 pm (UTC)Yeah, even without the Walt warning, I do not think I would consider hiding in the hatch. *shudder*
Vincent! So sweet. And I was a puddle of mush over Jin and Sun. Jin is my new boyfriend.
I think perhaps "sings" is not the right word.

No, sings isn't exactly right. Perhaps performs would have been a better choice (as does just leads to all sorts of perverse thoughts in that particular context).

Date: 2005-05-19 05:09 pm (UTC)I teared up a bit over Sun and Jin having their little bonding moment. Those two really needed that and it was a perfect moment, sad and sweet and hopeful all at once. Next week's episode is going to be so painful and wrenching and heartbreaking and then leave us with some terrible thing to contemplate all summer long. God, I can't wait. *big, eager grin*

Date: 2005-05-19 06:20 pm (UTC)I definitely agree. The "let's all hide in the hatch!" plan has to be stupidest thing ever. Seriously. Let's all go in one place where we will be trapped and can only get out of in single file and we don't even know what's in there. STUPID! If they all band together to fight - lay ambushes and such you'd think it would work much better...
And Dom was so very cute! *loves on Dom some more*

Date: 2005-05-19 06:46 pm (UTC)You know, the people on that island really need some paratroopers to tell them how to go about things like this. You don't go and hide everyone in the little hatch where they'll be trapped. You clean your guns, organize defensive positions and dig in. *rolls eyes* Sheesh, even Sobel would have a better handle on things.

Date: 2005-05-20 12:56 pm (UTC)The island definitely needs paratroopers! Because the "hide in the hatch" idea is so stupid! Tee hee! *imagines Sobel getting them to doulbe time the mountain thing in the middle of the island "three polar bears up, three polar bears down"*

He...was....Merry????
