liptonrm_backupThis is the week when the major tv networks are announcing their fall line-ups so ya'll are going to be getting a lot of television info out of me. Here's some good news that I missed from NBC's announcement yesterday, premiering in the fall will be a comedy starring Jason Lee called My Name is Earl. It is scheduled on Tuesdays at 8PM. What geek doesn't love Jason Lee?
More good news, this time from ABC. Premiering midseason on Mondays at 10PM (after Monday Night Football ends) is a new drama called What About Brian that will co star Rick Gomez. The celebrations can now commence.
Two ABC shows that look interesting are Invasion and Kolchak. Invasion was created by Thomas Schlamme (of West Wing fame) and has as its premise that all of the natural disasters of recent years are being caused by the aliens that are already amongst us. Kolchak is Nightstalker by any other name, will star Stuart Townsend and is produced by Frank Spotnitz (of The X-Files). Will I watch them? Who knows but they do, at least, look semi-promising.
And, as if there was any doubt, Lost has been renewed for a second season but its time has been moved. It will now be airing on Wednesdays at 9PM.
I will leave you with the Word Origin of the Day: Grenade - THe shape of this hand-held weapon is responsible for its name. It was coined in French as a shortened version of the word pomegranate, a fruit with a grenade-like shape.
