I'd have Barenaked Ladies play at all of the important events in my life. Weddings, birthdays, Wednesdays, any day I'm feeling especially blue, or happy, or energetic... Love that band, love them and the concert they put on last night was just great. The minute they came on stage practically the whole audience stood up and we didn't sit down again until we got back in our cars. BNL are, more then anything else, consummate performers. They're just too much fun to watch and the fact that I love their music makes it an even better experience;-).

However, BNL wasn't the only band of the evening. There were actually six bands all jammed into the line-up of that crazy Monday night. I knew I would love BNL, but the surprise of the evening for me was 311. I had a friend once who loved 311 but when I got the chance to here some of their radio stuff I was less then enthused. I actually thought their music was kind of boring. Boy was I wrong! They're great, I mean really, really great. I have to go out and buy an album now because I want to here more of their stuff. I'll have to apologize to Jeremy for ever doubting his band;-).

The other acts went from either good to really, really bad. I like Switchfoot and I enjoyed their set. Dashboard Confessional was better then I expected, not great but compared to the act that came before them (Rancid), they were geniuses. I hated Rancid, too loud, too annoying, just too everything. I love rock and I love loud rock but Rancid just pissed me off. Hot Hot Heat was okay, I wasn't all that impressed but they didn't give me to whole urge to kill that Rancid inspired.

It was a really great night. I enjoyed myself so much that now I'm seriously thinking about other concerts I would like to go see. Wow, another way for me to spend my hard-earned money, just what I needed, especially now with the holidays and Return of the King, everything is conspiring to take away my dough. Sigh.

Oh yeah, that reminds me, have to go by the theater and see if I can pick up Return of the King tickets today...;-)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you sure told me so;-). 'Course, I never doubted you for an instant! There was some running around the stage, but it was Ed who did the craziest thing. During one of the songs he went right down into the audience and played his guitar. It was crazy;-). Fun, fun times.
