TGIF, all!

I have a couple things to share today. Let's call this an extended edition of show and tell;-). First off, here are some of the baseball pictures I've taken in the past couple of weeks.

These pictures were taken when I was still getting used to the digital camera so some of them are a little fuzzy. This game was played at the Ray Fisher Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We were able to find seats directly behind home plate as most of the attending student fans took up seats behind the home dugout. There was also an alumni band in attendance.

I'd finally gotten a handle on how to hold the camera, so these pictures are much less fuzzy and the action shots look 100% better. This game was played at Oldsmobile Park in Lansing, MI. This is actually the home of the local minor league team, the Lansing Lugnuts, but they allow the Spartans to occasionally use it as the MSU field is not very good at all. This time we sat directly behind the dugout.

A shot of the Big Lug and his friend running up the street to the stadium. You can see the state capitol in the background.

I missed the Cinco de Mayo festivities yesterday so as an act of contrition I offer up some music to make your Friday brighter. This is straight from Mexico and a song I heard a lot when I lived in South Texas.

Boom Boom! by The Kumbia Kings

Have a great weekend, everybody!

ETA: This little piece of news just about gave me a heart attack. I literally stood up from my desk and spun in a circle while flapping my hands. I was so excited that I couldn't even breathe. This is such good news, amazing news, I want to explode I'm so excited news. ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh

Hey! Our alma matti were playing each other! Who won? OSU had a kick-ass baseball team when I was there, lo so many years ago.

*hangs head in shame* I have not read any of the The Dark Is Rising series. Maybe for the book club. Too scary for 9-year-olds? We're doing A Wrinkle in Time next month, another book I'm ashamed to say I haven't read. I suck.

Ooops, by OSU I meant Ohio State University. Dangit, I have to stop beeing so Big Ten-centric.

That's okay. I didn't read either Dark is Rising or Wrinkle in Time until I got into high school. The first one in the series, Over Sea, Under Stone is definitely age appropriate and I think the rest of the series would also fit, though it's been so long since I've dealt with 9 year olds that I can't say for certain.

Next weekend, Special Agent Dr. Webster, Paratrooper, BABY!

PS - Whitters said "cat" repeatedly at Zippo. Zippo was unimpressed and I'm in big trouble from bringing another baby into Fangirl HQ.

/random.

MINDHUNTERS!!!! I'm all a'quiver.

Though, I did forget that I promised the 'rents that I would take care of the dog this weekend as they are going out of town. We shall have to plan accordingly as the Vortex will not be denied!

Poor, poor Zippo. She was so put upon, especially considering how absolutely adorable Whitters must've been. Aaaaaaww
