Post-Thanksgiving Aggravations
Dec. 1st, 2003 01:44 pmActually, my only aggravation at the moment is the fact that the candy I'm eating keeps on getting stuck in my teeth. It's supposed to be hard candy, but it does this weird sticky, chewy thing every time I try to gnaw on it. Most frustrating;-).
Thanksgiving was good. Lots of food, lots of fun and lots of space movie goodness. El Papi and I reintroduced the old tradition of watching hours and hours of Star Trek/Star Wars movies on Thanksgiving, both before and after the meal. After all, it's nice to have something on that you don't have to sit and watch every second of, especially while you're in the cooking process and it's also nice to have something on that doesn't make you feel bad if you fall asleep in the middle of it. And people wonder how I grew up to become a big geek, it's all in the genes, baby!
Oh, and just so you know, the baking turned out very well;-). To be completely honest, I spent the entire weekend baking. I have to send Christmas cookies to my brothers, who happen to be residing in various parts of the globe at the moment. Hence, the early baking so early packages can be sent off. I really do miss the boys, the holidays just aren't the same without them.
Now, it's back to the grindstone. Blah, blah, blah. I do have good news, though. I'm going to the 89X concert in Detroit tonight, featuring Barenaked Ladies. Woohoo! I can't wait. I've seen 'em in concert before and I would have to be an idiot to miss the chance to see them again. Yay! This should be a night to remember;-)[snerk]

Date: 2003-12-02 07:18 am (UTC)Star Wars and Star Trek? Are you kidding me? The only thing on my TV on Turkey Day is FOOTBALL!! I do recall a few years ago, when we visited Danielle's family, and they had a The Waltons marathon on. So I guess you could get much worse. ;)

Date: 2003-12-02 12:59 pm (UTC)I admit, we caught a the end of the Lions' game, it was cool to see them beat the Packers. I too know the horrors of a Waltons marathon, my Mum is a big fan. I swear they play that show in Hell for the worst criminals, like serial killers and people who embezzle from charitable corporations. Shudder.
