Feb. 10th, 2005 11:03 amDuuuuuuuuuuude. Watching Lost while imagining that it's actually a soap opera where Easy accidentally parachuted onto the island is the best.crack.ever. More coherent and incoherent thoughts below.
I'm beginning to think that the Charlie/Claire relationship is going to be much more important then we think it is. I read some interesting spec that Claire was brainwashed by Ethan during those two weeks and that it's not that she doesn't remember anything since the crash but rather that she's now working with him in some nefarious scheme. It's interesting spec and, you know, the more I think about Claire the more suspicious I become. It's not any one thing that she did, but rather an intution. By the pricking of my thumbs ... So, it was either a very good thing or a very bad thing that Charlie shot him. I have a feeling that there's more going on here then we can see and that Charlie's need to protect Claire will have traumatic results in the longterm. It's like I said during the flashbacks, this can only end in pain.
Speaking of the flashbacks, can I just say how much I loved the girl, Lucy, who Charlie was dating/using/whatever? She was such a fangirl, it was so cute. They were so cute together. The pub scene had me all giggly.
Conversely, the Battle of Charlie and The Copier was one of the most painful things I've ever seen on tv. The humiliation, the despair, the puking, it was all horrible. Though, I have to admit, there was this shot of Charlie poking at the copier buttons that made my jaw drop. That man has some beeeyoootiful hands. Guh. I blame
hiyacynth for getting me started on the hand porn.
Shoot, Dom gives Charlie freaking layers. The glances, the little gestures, the way he looked holding the gun he had just used to kill someone. Oy, I've got a sneaking suspicion that Charlie Pace is a whole lot darker then we've been led to believe. Sweet.
Now all we need is a Hurley ep and another one about Sayid and I'll be a very happy camper.
Favorite Mental Image of the Day: Nixon and Sayid interrogating Ethan. *shiver*

Date: 2005-02-10 05:18 pm (UTC)It was very painful watching the downfall of Charlie and the chicky he was wooing in the flashbacks. I just couldn't help feeling that she should have given him another chance. He really did like her. And it will come back to bite him in the ass. We've already seen it start with the way he so fiercely protects Claire. He's so determined for it not to turn out like the past that he looses sight of the bigger picture on the island.
And yeah, he always has pretty hands.

Date: 2005-02-10 06:05 pm (UTC)One of the things that is so endearing about Charlie's character is that he's so much like a real person. He's fucked up pretty spectacularly in the past and done stuff that he's not proud of and his best intentions have led him astray a time or two and he's still plugging along.
He is focused too narrowly and I have the worst feeling that it's going to bring him loads of pain in the future. He's ignoring the bigger picture while the bigger picture is there, waiting to come in for the kill. Angst Angst angstangstangst
