Dec. 20th, 2004 02:17 pmLa la la. It's freaking freezing up here. Everywhere I look it is bright and sunny and cooooold. It was especially cold when I had to run out at midnight to pick up a brush. I'm so not girly enough, if I were girly enough I would have had brushes strewn all around my apartment and I wouldn't have had to go out with wet hair in the middle of a clear, cold night. Someday I'll get my act together, someday.
Had the annual Kirkmas celebration with Heather and Dan on Friday. I cooked, we watched RotK:EE and Dan attempted to make lembas. They would have turned out well if he hadn't put dangerous amounts of frankincense in them. Yes, that's right, frankincense, it apparently really does exist and if you put more then a pinch of it in anything you might keel over dead. I have heard that my face was quite a sight after I nibbled on my piece of lembas bread.
I watched the last disc of Band of Brothers and It's a Wonderful Life last night. Wow, what a depressing evening. Despite the hopeful title It's a Wonderful Life is actually one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen, all full of unfulfilled dreams and quiet desperation. It's a shining example of the reason for the amount of depression and angst that surround the holiday season.
I ate a gingersanta man cookie today, my first of the season. It was yummy and vaguely cannibalistic. Yuuummmm, cannibalism.
