It is gorgeous outside, or at least it looks that way out the window in my office. Blue sky, sun is shining, I think this might just be paradise.

The weekend was marvelously soothing. I finished off a new book, Household Gods by Judith Tarr and Harry Turtledove. It was hillrious, all about a nineties single-mother lawyer transported back to the Roman era. The main character kept on complaining about the muck and the lice and the horrid smells and the sexual inequality as if she expected the 2nd century to be some sort of utopic heaven rather then a nasty, dirty, difficult time. The history major in me giggled the whole way through, it was priceless.

I've started a new livejournal community. I was beginning to feel as if my little entertainment column was taking over (as it was) and so I have moved it over to [livejournal.com profile] entertain_crack. Anyone who wants to can go over there, join the community and not only respond to my posts but also make posts of your own. That way, we can all talk about the entertainment stuff that is important to us. Movie/TV/video game/book/fanfiction reviews are all more then welcome.

I have Diet Coke with Lime, all is right in my world.

'Twas, 'twas! And I totally forgot to comment, but I think your hobbit hole is one of the cutest things ever. It makes me want to dig out my old doll house and set up one of my own;-).

Hee hee, thanks! If you dig out your old doll house and set up a hobbit hole, make sure you post pictures. ;)

"... and I saw the squirrels, and they were merry..."

sorry, but that opening comment was SO totally Office Space. I often feel the same way, only lucky me, I belong to the "Dark Side" of the office, so I only ever see the light of day at lunch in the breakroom on the "Light Side", and when I go next door to the UPS Store to deliver the mail. 'spose it's just as well... less distraction that way, and more motivation to move upward and onward with my life.

Yes, move upwards and onwards so that you can spend your day staring out of your office window watching the construction workers across the street pour cement, just as my Da did last week.

La La La. So pretty outside!
