liptonrm_backupAnother week, another SYTYCD post. What, it's summer and dancing is pretty (plus I'm still formulating Dark Knight Rises thoughts; thinking is hard).
Above the cut I'll say that I wasn't too upset about any of the cuts this week. A couple of the numbers were weirdly choreographed, but some of them were excellent and, well, yes it's time to cut.
I think that every season there will be one dancer that I totally and completely hate and this season it was Nick, so I was happy to see him go (last season it was Jess and he stuck around forever). The hatred has no reason and has little or nothing to do with dancing. But, yeah, hate. I did, however, really like his partner so I'll be excited to see what Amber does with someone new.
I know Cyrus is popular with the audience but he just seems so out of his element. He's really great at what he does, and at connecting with the viewers (a very important skill on SYTYCD) but he is just not proficient at any other form of dance. I respect him for keeping in there and giving it his all but I can't help but hope he goes home soon.
Also, just because you have the couple kiss at the end doesn't mean you can save a mediocre routine (*cough* Dareian and Janelle *cough*). Kissing wasn't the only thing that made Melanie and Marko's routine last season so awesome. Aaaaah, the memories ...

Man, I miss watching the show with you. This season my hatred was for Alexis, right off from Vegas week, she had no business being there. But now she is gone anyways, so I guess I'll have to find someone else to randomly despise.
Agree on everything you said about Cyrus but we've talked about that. A reality show about Dragon House would be supreme.

Oh, thank you for posting that link! That was so much fun to watch again. There is an obvious reason that girl won the show last year! (also on the side where youtube recs other vids for me, it showed a vid with Kent. Oh Kent, you own my heart.)
You know what, watching that vid of Matt and Audrey - I think it is possible that girl is going to sneak attack her way into the winning spot. She is a serious contender anyways. Amelia is the kind of dancer that choreagraphers fucking dream about at night. Right? Also, they both have amazing feet. I have noticed hers before but I never really noticed Will's when he wears shoes, but damn, watch their feet in this one. Oh George, he is so endearing but I have a feeling he won't last long because he just isn't getting noticed, I don't think.
So when J takes P to Chicago next month, if you are still in state - want to do a Step Up marathon? I was going to ask you for this weekend but then they canceled the trip. Boo.
