Went to see Cowboys & Aliens tonight. It was exactly as advertised, the cowboys fought the aliens, which was awesome. It was the best thing I've seen Harrison Ford in since the third Indiana Jones movie so yay for that. I think he should do more westerns, he really fits the genre.

It had bonus surprise!Walter Goggins so even though Seth Bullock wasn't in the movie at least his alter ego's favorite frenemy (and occasional life partner) was in it for him. So if you enjoy Deadwood, aliens, westerns, and/or all of the above I very much recommend this movie. Plus, Daniel Craig looked damn fine in the chaps, cowboy hat, and vest combo they head him in. mmmhmmmm

The Philosopher is back from her study abroad in Germany. She's staying with my parents for the weekend and then flying out to Cali to see her family and wait out the time until Lt. Wrestler gets back from South Korea. She texted me yesterday trying to entice me to go see that Smurfs movie, saying it was my childhood. Which is where the Smurfs should have stayed. I just don't understand the trailers. Why are they in NYC? What is Neil Patrick Harris doing? Why is it part real/part CGI? Wait, no, I don't want to know why. Just, no.

I should probably go to bed. I have to get up quite early tomorrow morning. Well, earlyish. Anyway, enjoy more meme.

10 – Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?

As we discussed yesterday, I haven't written any pairings, at least, not the way I think meme means when it asks about pairings. I'll be honest, there are some pairings that I don't think I'd ever feel comfortable writing. We all have lines that we don't want to cross. I think one of the neat things about fandom is that we're encouraged to step out of our comfort zone, to write things that wouldn't necessarily be easy to write.

I say that, and yet I'm not sure how far I would be willing to challenge myself. Heck, I'm so vanilla that writing a PG-13 romantic relationship would be way outside my comfort zone. It will be interseting to see what the future holds.

Life partner, heehee, why yes they are. Do you like my new icon?

Also, as you are not usually a pairing writer, I am curious as to what the Boy Scout AU will be rated. See, that fic will be you outside your comfort zone. As you well know, there is no pairing I won't try once.
