The following are the first batch of Belated More Joy Day clips. But, first, a question.

As I sink deeper and deeper into the vidding hole I'm discovering certain disappointments with the technology at my disposal. And I'm not quite sure who to ask, or trust, when it comes to inexpensive programs (though I trust the flist implicitly in these matters). My initial query is: what is the best way to get video off of a dvd? My computer didn't come equipped with a dvd ripper (though it does have a burner) and I'm, frankly, stumped at how to get high quality footage from one place to another.

Any help or direction ya'll can give will be greatly appreciated.

I like a program called DVD Shrink. It will turn your DVD into a VIDEO_TS folder, then you can open up the individual files ending in .VOB and clip the relevent bits in full DVD-quality.
