liptonrm_backupSo very tired. And it just hit me BAM all of a sudden, too. I guess it's the post-Show adrenaline drain. ;-)
I very much enjoyed Show tonight. Don't have a lot to comment on, found it very adorable at parts and touching at others.
Sam got the clap but saved the day, which I guess is a fair-ish trade. Kinda. ;-) I like that Sam's win was part skill, part desperation, and a whole lotta luck. And that he and Dean are obviously serious about the whole teamwork/partnership thing. It makes me happy.
Dean was great, as was Old!Dean. Bobby's breakin' my heart but I know he'll pull it all together 'cause he's Bobby and that's what he does. Being stuck in the middle of the post-trauma grieving process is something I don't envy the guy, but I'm glad they're not taking the easy way out.
I really kind of wish that the first not-entirely-evil witch we meet wasn't a guy. Actually, it would've been cool if they'd found a way to bring back Bela for this episode. I know, they killed her, blah blah blah, but it would've been awesome. She could've been playing a deeper game, or desperate to get a few more years tacked onto her life, or something.
And Show totally could've worked it, even with their present canon. By stealing the Colt Bela could've gotten a couple years reprieve on her deal and then Sam went and killed Lilith, thus leaving Bela as the only human in the world who's actually kind of grateful for the Apocalypse. So now she's trying to find any way to either extend her life or insure that her deal will never come due. Enter Patrick and his poker game. She's just the kind of woman who would both appreciate Patrick and be willing to use him. Of course, there would have to be some reason why she'd be willing to kill him and need to use the boys and Bobby to accomplish her ends. But details, shmetails, it could totally work!
Then, because the CW wouldn't be insisting on her presence in every other episode, she could've become like all of the other great recurring characters, only showing up every once and a while to stir things up and have angry sex with the boys in fic. It would be great. *happy sigh*
I'm glad that my inadvertant spoiler for the next episode was present in the preview, it makes me feel less cheated (being spoiled was my own damn fault, I went to IMDb to look up the new Cathryn Humphris and read a future episode thing without meaning to). YAY for next episode!!!!!
And now I'm officially really, really tired. I'm shamefully behind on replying to comments but promise to get on that first thing tomorrow. *crosses heart*
