I have accepted the fact that I won't be turning my brief in on time. Maybe if I hadn't gone to sleep last night I would be able to, but I'm tired of ruining my health for law school. I could either turn in an incoherent mess this afternoon or a more polished version on Monday morning.

*sighs* It is what it is. Of course, this would all be better if I gave even half a damn about any of it.

But let's talk about something else entirely. I'm trying to come up with a 'happy, fun, everybody's in love' mix for my brother's wedding. I have a handful of songs like Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me and Michael Franti - Say Hey (I Love You) but, unfortunately, my musical collection doesn't tend to run towards the happily romantic.

So please, o mighty f-list, give me suggestions! What are your favorite songs about love? What makes you think about happily ever after? All musical genres feel free to apply!

Hmm, I'll think about this some more too, but the first song that comes to mind is [Travis - Flowers In The Window]. I guess because I saw it on a wedding mix many moons ago, although the links will be long expired.

Edit: and there's this one.

Most of the romantic songs I think of automatically are decades old... (Yes, I grew up on movie musicals, and yes, I get all mushy when Gene Kelly sings "You Are My Lucky Star"...)

If your brother likes that sort of thing, let me know and I'll rummage up a list.

In my opinion, the age and/or era of the music is immaterial. Heck, the mix alreadhy has some Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday on it. Actually, some movie musical songs would be a perfect addition.

The more music the merrier. =D

Some Enchanted Evening, from South Pacific
Fields of Gold, by Sting (no, not that old, but makes me goopy)
You Are My Lucky Star, from Singin in the Rain
When You're in Love from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Once Upon a Dream, from Sleeping Beauty
And anything you can dance to. Find out if they're going to waltz!

OMG I love all of those songs! Thank you so much for mentioning them because now that I see them I can't imagine any lovey-dovey playlist would be complete without them.

See, I just should've emailed you in the first place. *facepalms* Of course you'd be able to hook me up with the best music.

These are excellent. And please do send me any that you can for I am a cheap bastard, even as concerns my little brother's nuptials. ;-)

Thanks a bunch!

Sending them to liptonrm[at]hotmail.com would be a safe bet. Actually, I can pretty much guarantee that I'll get them at that address.
