So, while certain friends of mine are off having fun in New Orleans, here I sit, killing time.

So, some random musings, for your entertainment (or mine;-):

I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books in years and I haven't seen any of the movies since the last one was in the theater, but I've suddenly found that I'm inordinately fond of Ron Weasley. I'm sure that's not surprising to anyone but me.

When I was at the bookstore the other day I almost bought two books and ended up buying two other books and the April edition of Premiere magazine (which I had hesitated buying because it has Orlando Bloom on the cover and I didn't want anyone to think I'm a screaming fangirl). The magazing was interesting and spurred a discussion between myself and the Big Lug about a Brazilian prison movie entitled Carandiru (so proving its worth as an acquisition). I've already finished reading A War of Flowers by Tad Williams and I've begun reading Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson (which is interesting and hillarious, there's this whole allegory about dwarves and hobbits and techies and intellectual snobs that I have to share with you all once I get home) and now I have to go buy The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold because I have heard it is a very good book and also because I hear that Peter Jackson & Co. might be adapting it after the film King Kong.

Talked to the Wrestler on ... Wednesday. He was calling to set up the time for the big Mother's Day phone call. He sounds good, but I wish he'd send us some pictures, I'd love to find out what Iquique, Chile looks like.

I wish Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was still in theaters around here 'cause nothing else really sounds all that interesting. I really should have caught it a month ago. *sigh*

It's cloudy and sunny all at the same time. How do they do that?

That's really weird. Just yesterday, when I saw an ad for Harry Potter 3 on TV, I spontaneously had some thoughts of Ron Weasley fondness. :-\ Then I started thinking I should start reading the books again... Maybe there's something going around? ;)

How weird is that?! It's a virus, a disease. It's called Ronitis (or something) and I'm sure the CDC is already researching a cure. It's just annoying, 'cause I really wasn't excited about the next HP movie, and now I can't wait to see Ron again.

I really hope this doesn't make me a dirty old woman...

it only makes you a dirty old woman...

if you are having inappropriate thoughts...

No, no inappropriate thoughts. At least... I don't think so;-).

Haven't read the fifth book yet, but I'm always happy to slap Harry around, whatever the situation;-).
