Leaders and Best
May. 3rd, 2004 01:41 pmI'm a college graduate. It's too surreal for words. I sat in Michigan Stadium on Saturday, in a cap and gown, and listened to people tell me it was time to get on with the rest of my life. Wow, I think I should be bouncing off the walls. Maybe it all just hasn't sunk in yet, maybe it never will. Life is like that, I've found. You follow one more step after another and try to make the choices that will improve your life and well-being, strive not to have regrets and hope for the best. Life continues on and such it is.
You know, I bet existential meanderings are par in course for people in my situation. College graduates and BA recipients, we all think we're deep and stuff, but we're really just pretentious;-). Just be glad I majored in history and not philosophy; just imagining that crisis is enough to make me want to climb under my desk and not come out for a year, or so;-).
Actually, Saturday was really cold, but the commencement speaker was really good, so I'll forgive them the bad weather;-). It didn't rain, thankfully, but my toes were very cold in the new strappy sandles I bought for the occasion. I then went home and slept until Sunday (seriously).
So, anyone know of a company who's looking for an affable, bilingual, history major?;-)

Date: 2004-05-03 11:48 am (UTC)Hopefully, this works out much better for you than it did for me. And I'm jealous that your speaker was good. I had some foreign guy that you couldn't understand at all. And after the variety of GSI's I had, I thought I could comprehend any accent!
