Apr. 25th, 2009 06:59 pmI will see your bird flu and raise you a possible swine flu pandemic
Personally, I'm not freaking out about the possibility of a real life plague apocalypse (though you all do know it's my favorite kind, only trumping zombies through it's higher probablility of actually occurring). I'm merely keeping an eye on the situation and thought I'd pass the word along so that you can do the same.
It's been a day of rain, rain, and more rain, with a side of thunderstorm and heavy wind today in good ol' Mid-Michigan. Oh how I love a spring storm. I really do love it here so it made me sad to realize, during the latest cold snap, that I may not have many more winters in the Great White North left in me. It's not just the cold that gets me, it's the damp and the way it all seeps down right into my bones. It's not a pleasant experience. And ever since I caught a 15-minute blip about New Mexico during a History Channel show I've been thinking that I might like to head down thataway. Or, at least, take a visit and see what it's like.
Anyway, who knows what the future will hold. But I really do hope I find a way to stay in my home state. I want to visit the entire world but home really is where my heart is.
Just watched the latest Who special (yes, yes, I'm sadly behind the times) and it was an enjoyable romp. Alien worlds, thieves, high adventure, a flying double-decker. As I sat at my computer watching it I was knitting an afghan stripe and I thought 'You know, if I were sitting on that bus I'd still be knitting this afghan stripe.' I'd be the quiet, mousy-haired girl wearing glasses in the back of the bus knitting away. Except for the three minutes where I ran around the bus in excitement because OMG I'M ON ANOTHER PLANET and rolled around in the sand.
Oh, and the bit where they sat down and gave us expository backstory on the planet and then it took them, like, forever to say that the storm was full of animals that wanted to eat them dead? Yeah, what part of "It's shiny and full of death" did they not understand from psychic!lady's warnings. Let's get a move on, here, people!
But, yes, a very enjoyable romp. And everyone loves the Doctor, in case we missed the memo. ;-)
La la la, I am hungry. Maybe there's something on tv now... *wanders away*
