Mar. 1st, 2009 10:37 amAm very tired of having existential crises. Mostly just tired of my brain and would like to have a new one, plz&thnku.
Bleh *shakes head* Okay, enough self-indulgence. Did I ever tell you guys that I made pie for Dean's birthday in January? It was a chocolate cream pie that I shared it with the Baylors, their cousin, and the couple the Baylor Cousin has been indoctrinating into SPN. It was most tasty and we rounded out the occasion by watching Something Wicked, Provenance, and Dead Man's Blood and playing a rousing game of Supernatural Life. It was a good evening and I'm sure Dean would have approved if he were, you know, real.
In other, more recent news, I finally got the chance to meet the Wrestler's Girlfriend this past week. I have to say, I highly approve his taste in significant others. She's a lot of fun, she's a philosophy major who plays the bassoon, and the bass trombone in the UM Marching Band, who's read Neil Gaiman and can't wait to see Watchmen. Plus, she and the Wrestler are absolutely adorable together.
I always knew I raised him right. ;-)
Watched Sunshine yesterday, a movie Danny Boyle directed before he won an Oscar. It was fantastic, just the kind of sci-fi I love, a character-driven spectacle full of great performances, interesting science, and deeply human characters. The head trip was exacerbated by the fact that I'd watched 28 Days Later with the Baylors the night before. The two movies actually have more than a little in common, much more than merely sharing a lead actor. Sunshine already has a high spot in my personal pantheon of genre movies, it's right up there with Gattaca and Blade Runner.
I'm very tired and would like to have a break from life now. If that can be arranged. A little vacation is all I need.

Date: 2009-03-02 02:14 am (UTC)So very sleepy tonight. I have not done anything on my midterm today, and you know what? The odds of my doing anything on it at this point are next to nothing because I have BSG DLing, and today I obtained a cheap used copy of Deadwood Season 2. I understand Seth Bullock is waiting for me in Deadwood. Naked.
Love you!
