Jan. 29th, 2009 10:08 pmWas tonight Thursday night? Huh, I guess it was.
I don't have very many concrete responses. It's been a pretty shitty week and I'm still feeling pretty torn up about Kim Manners' death so I'm just all emotionally flaily, ya know? These things do happen.
BUT OMG BARRY WANTED TO GO TO MSU VETERINARY I HAVE A FRIEND THERE RIGHT NOW! Not just any friend but a friend I made in kindergarten OMG! Are the new writer guys from Michigan because if they are I think I might forgive them for Yellow Fever.
Heck, what am I saying, they're totally forgiven after bringing us this week's episode. Really, I think a lot of the meh I felt last fall after Monster Movie had a lot to do with everybody adjusting to not having Kim around on set all of the time. Which, OMG, I think I have to go cry again. But they do seem to be finding their new stride.
And I'm not kidding about that crying thing. I told you I've been emotionally flaily.
*deep breath* Oh, Sam, as if you didn't have enough to feel guilty about. And did you all hear the way he said he wasn't evil to Dirk's ghost? *wibbles* This coming on the heels of last week's episode is quite illuminating, and devestating. Poor, poor Sammy.
It is funny how fandom's already done pretty much everything we saw in the episode. Though it's not surprising, there are only so many ways a Winchesters in high school story can play out. Well, unless you're going to reveal that Dean and John have been keeping Sam in the dark about hunting until he's some ridiculously old age, but you only get one of those crazy revelations in the lifetime of a show, if you're lucky.
I'm kind of really glad that they showed that adolescence is hell for everyone. Though, strangely enough high school wasn't all that hellish for me. By the time I got there I pretty much knew how to get by and get along. But, yes, adolescence does suck and everyone has their own sob story to tell.
I wasn't all that fond of the guy who played teen!Dean but I didn't hate him. It's just a shame that the other wee!Dean was too wee to play an 18 year old. Wee!Sam kicked ass, literally and figuratively. A 21 Jump Street reference is not supposed to make me emo, but it did. Dean was a loveable jerk as the gym teacher and my brother The Wrestler would've worshipped the ground he walked on. Actually, I think Dean and The Wrestler would get along really well, which is, frankly, kind of disturbing.
Ahem. Anyway, that was a good solid ep that can proudly take its place amongst the other wee!Winchester eps that we've received. Gold stars stickers all around.
In sum: WWKMD
