Dec. 11th, 2008 06:47 pmI have never been so truly and utterly fucked by an exam before in my entire life. Holy hell, that was awful. Word to the wise, don't take Taxation if you can at all avoid it. It's required at my law school even though it's not on any bar exam anywhere. We're talking first circle of Hell, at the very least.
Unless, of course, you like that kind of stuff. The Big Lug certainly does which is why he's rocking it out over at the IRS. I, on the other hand, haven't taken a math class since my sophomore year of high school and taxation is close enough as to almost make no difference. They share a very important trait which is that whenever I'm sitting in class, listening to the professor everything makes perfect sense and seems pretty straight-forward but when I try to do it on my own I can't make any of the numbers work out right, at all. My realtionship with maths is a perfect illustration of cognitive dissonance.
Bleh. Let's all hope I pass so that I never have to do that ever again. Never ever.
Speaking of the Big Lug, he got robbed last night. Some hooligans kicked in his back door and stole his and his roommate's laptops. The weird thing is that they left the 42-inch Plasma TV behind, as well as money that was laying out and the nice cufflinks and things the Big Lug has. But, OMG, I can't imagine anything worse than having your laptop stolen. I know that mine is my lifeline, it's where I keep all of the important stuff like fics and old papers and pictures and mixes and everything. So I feel for the guy.
But remind me to tell you all about his privileged white, male response to the whole thing. Because there's a big difference between spending time in the projects and actually living there.
OK, I'm gonna turn my brain off for a little while. And then I'm going to start going on Secured Transactions material. By Sunday afternoon it'll all be over. I can't wait.
