Wow, I felt downright awful last night. Nausea, pain, the works. I thought I might be catching the flu but I think it was just more fibro crazy. Stupid crazy. I also spent all day yesterday feeling like my tendons were just about to come undone, like my hip or something was suddenly going to unattach itself from the rest of my body. It was most disconcerting.

Anyway, enough of that. Miraculously, classes don't start up again until the 12th, so I have a wonderful bit of me time till then. I've already put the new dvd player to good use watching some BSG and Gone Baby Gone. Gone Baby Gone is a terrific movie but it's also really depressing, so if you're going to watch it I recommend you wait till you're in the mood for considering complicated moral issues. I should be getting Stardust in the mail today, which should be a welcome relief from angst and woe.

Speaking of watching things, I tried out that Leverage show on TNT. I was going to give it a pass but then I heard it had Aldis Hodge so I had to catch at least one episode. It's not a bad show, but it's also no Hustle. If you're looking for con artists with a heart of gold I suggest the British version over the American, they take themselves less seriously and seem to have more fun.

Which reminds me that there was a bit of business announced over the weekend. We know who the new Doctor is, don't we? I have to say, I was semi-excited when the rumors were flying about Paterson Joseph or Adrian Lester but the announced actor has kind of dampened that enthusiasm. Now I remember why I shouldn't pay attention to spoilers or casting rumors, they only disappoint me in the end. I'm sure the New Kid will do a fine job blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda, I was just sort of hoping that the Adrian Lester rumor would be true. I kind of really love Adrian Lester.

Apparently weird things are going on with the Overlords who rule LJ. *sighs* Well, I did set up that account that I've never looked at again over at InsaneJournal, so if anything happens I'll be able to pick up the pieces, I suppose. Oh, LJ, just because fandom is quiet (at this exact moment) doesn't mean you have to pick up the wank slack. You don't have to do that for us, really you don't.

My one New Year's Resolution for 2009 is to be a better, more proactive member of the online community. This will entail, at the very least, more frequent commenting on other people's posts and replying to each and every comment I receive on one of my posts. I feel like I've let myself become some sort of anti-social leech on society and I would like to kick inertia in the shins and turn it all around.

As a further step in my continuing effort to stop sucking, I think it'd be fun to put together a new fic challenge at [livejournal.com profile] xovers_ftw. I've kind of let the community fall by the wayside so now's the time to stir it up a little bit. After all, who doesn't love a good crossover?

So here are a couple questions for group: Do you think the time is right for a crossover challenge? If so, what kind of crossovers should there be? [I'm thinking anything and everything so long as one of the elements used is from a book] And would anyone be interested in participating in such a challenge?

Let me know what you all think, plz & thank you.

All right then, off to work on other things and/or re-read fanfic. Fic does make everything better. =D

Thanks a million to [livejournal.com profile] goddess_loki for pointing out that lj's poll code failed me the last time around. Let's try this again, shall we?

Remember to vote early and vote often. And please feel free to elaborate on any thoughts you might have in the comments.
