Aug. 13th, 2007 03:10 pmAm back from the rheumatologist and am quite pleased with the visit as a whole. Have been preliminarily diagnosed with fibromyalgia (link thanks to
hiyacynth) and OMG that is better than the lupus that I feared. My rheumatologist is wonderful. She took me seriously and had real ideas about how to to treat things and gave me prescriptions and physical therapy and it's all going to cost a lot of money but I don't really care because I finally might be able to really deal with all of this. Yayz!!!!!!
On the downside apparently the whole theory behind treating fibromyalgia is pain management so when I used to call this "my chronic pain thing" I really wasn't wrong. There's no mystical, magical cure-all drug but, you know, that's okay. I can deal with anything now that I know what the hell I'm actually dealing with.
That's really all I have to report. Oh, and that I just read a rumor that there might be a musical version of Brokeback Mountain starring Hugh Jackman and James Marsden. I know a lot of people who would pay good money to see that.
Okay, nappy time -- which apparantly is better for me than I previously thought. Awesome, I love naps.
