Jun. 21st, 2006 10:12 amOh my gosh, the weather here today is so frakking weird. There were thunder storms all night and they're still passing through. At the moment the sky is so dark it looks like evening and the rain is pouring down. When I drove into work this morning there were lightning bolts but by the time I parked my car and the song on the radio had ended that little bit of storm had passed, only to be replaced now, 3 hours later, by something even more foreboding.
Poor Pup, I woke up to find him hiding in the laundry room, all stiff and sore from laying on the concrete floor. Bad weather really scares him.
HA! A former governor of MI was nicknamed 'Soapy'. There are a few of you out there who will understand why that is freaking hilarious.
Spent some time with my high school BFF last night (she's in town petsitting for her mother). She kept on making comments about how lame we were, sitting around and watching TV and all I could do was shrug because, seriously, that's how I spend most of my recreation time with my friends. Communal TV snark should be considered an art form.
It's funny spending time with someone who is almost a fangirl but not quite, or, at least, not an LJ type of fanperson. She loves the Ninth Doctor to pieces (and Christopher Eccleston for good measure) but has never seen either 28 Days Later or Shaun of the Dead and didn't know who Ron Livingston was. It was like we were almost speaking the same fan dialect, but not quite. There is a bit of a divide between someone who goes to Seventh Heaven for mindless brain candy and someone who goes to Supernatural for much the same reason.
And OMG, I'm over-analyzing all of this, again. Why won't my brain just shut itself off! *groans*
In other news: ( I rewatched the Supernatural pilot )
I am informed that today is the solstice. Happy Solstice, everyone! Be sure and get out and enjoy the longest day of the year! Unless, of course, you live in Michigan, Land of the Neverending Downpour.
