May. 8th, 2006 09:44 amI had a really busy weekend. It was kinda cool.
Friday night saw Mission Impossible 3 which I thought was better then any of its predecessors, not that that's saying a whole lot, but there you go. It was fun and had JJ Abrams finger prints all over it. Greg Grunberg was there! And Felicity! And Simon Pegg played a geeky genius! I was mostly amused by how Alias it all was but so much better. Except Jack Bristow so totally should've been there because he rulz the world. Of course, then it would've been "Jack Bristow Saving the Day" rather then "The Tom Cruise Show" and teh Cruise wouldn't have allowed that. So, yeah, I was entertained. And Jonathon Rhys Meyers is extraordinarily pretty and Irish. Good times.
Saturday went to my high school BFFs wedding or re-wedding or whatever (ie the ceremony they had to have because they forgot to tell me about the real ceremony and, of course, it's all about me and my needs;-). It was nice. I saw a lot of people I haven't seen in forever, including a friend from kindergarten and her parents (and husband but I don't really know her husband all that well). I also saw kids who were wee when I last saw them and now, a decade later, they're graduating from college and the like. So disconcerting. The reception was nice and low key. I got to flirt with the best man (majored in philosophy, working as an IT guy, a geek with social skills and I am tempted to go to GenCon in August for many reasons, not least of which is the chance to possibly see him again). I'm so happy for my high school BFF, she seems happy and that makes me happy and everyone is happy, happy, happy.
After that went to see the Sisters Baylor and finally got a chance to see why the internets exploded on Wednesday. OMG Lost!! That was intense and crazy and I flapped around for whole minutes afterwards. Totally didn't see that coming. ( Quick Spoilers )
Sunday went to church and got a new calling. I'm in charge of the music and thank goodness because my old calling was starting to aggravate in a major way. Afterwards worked on some mixes and downloaded some Supernatural. I only got to watch one episode and am chomping at the bit because I'm still 3 episodes away from the finale which I've spoiled myself for because suddenly I can't control myself. I can keep myself from looking at BSG s.3 spoilers and X3 spoilers and all sorts of other spoilers but I can't look away from the SPN spoilers. I'm so gorram obsessed.
There needs to be more gen BSG fic. I'm so sick of only finding shipper fic (and the bulk of that Lee/Kara) that I could just about scream. There also needs to be more Bill Adama fic because I'm a big fan and everybody in fandom is distracted by his pretty son.
La la la, I really need to get cracking on that Multiverse fic.
