Word Origin of the Day: G-String - This brief attire worn by strippers has an uncertain origin, but could have been inspired by a Native American term. Something called a geestring was linked with some Plains tribes, the namre for "a loincloth or breechcloth." In its modern application, it popped up in the 1930s in burlesque shows.
