Wow, I should just go ahead and retitle this 'Slim Picken's', that would probably be more appropriate for today;-). Today we've gotta a little Hellboy and a whole lot of Charlie Kaufman buzz. On that note...

The people over at chud.com have posted some great pics from that upcoming movie about a big ol' red guy from Hell. There are pages and pages of pictures posted so we'll never have to go hungry again. This is the good stuff, people.

I think Cate Blanchett is one of the finest actors I've ever seen and I tend to think she improves a movie just by being in it. So, of course, I'm interested in pretty much any news story about her that comes down the pipe. In this short, but interesting article Ms. Blanchett discusses her career and her future with the Australian Daily Telegraph.

Cate is Blazing a Trail of Her Own

I'm not the biggest Charlie Kaufman movie fan, even though I know that's close to heresy in the insular world of internet movie fandom. I thought Being John Malkovich was just too damn weird and incomprehensible, and while I enjoyed Adaptation it's not a movie I'll ever feel compelled to see more then the one time. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (starring, Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Elijah Wood, Kirsten Dunst and Mark Ruffalo) might just convert me to the movies of Charlie Kaufman. It just looks and sounds reeaally interesting, like one of those great sci-fi short stores that stick with you long after you read it. I'm looking forward to seeing it and determining whether it lives up to the expectations created by the trailer, or not. If you're as intrigued as I am you can check out Harry Knowles' review posted on AICN here and you can see what Mr. Kaufman, himself, has to say about the film here.

I caught the end of an old season 2 episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer yesterday. It was that episode where Jason Behr played Buffy's old boyfriend and I was reminded of how great BtVS was back in the day and why I fell in love with it in the first place. In honor of that, I want to share some on-set interviews done by Ms. Gellar and Mr. Behr for their new horror movie The Grudge. Aaaaah, the good ol' days.

Finally, I can't go away without sharing a trailer. I love trailers, I have actually gone to see movies just because of the trailers that run before them (which, on a tangential note, is another reason I hate Wing Commander, half the reason I saw that was because I heard there would be a Star Wars trailer in front of it. The bastards lied to me so I didn't even get lightsabers and space ships to balance out the awfullness of Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Matthew Lillard. *shudder*). I caught a look of the trailer for 13 Going on 30, a movie starring Jennifer Garner in a role that looks a lot like the one played by Tom Hanks in Big. Don't let that dissuade you, though, it actually looks cute and funny and not necessarily a retread with a woman instead of a man. Plus, there's a 'blink and you'll miss it' glimpse of Andy Serkis in a small role. I was surprised by how good it all looks.

13 Going on 30 Trailer

What a random day in Movie Land. There's a little bit of everything going on. I also realized recently that nearly everyday I've talked about projects that involve former cast/crew members of Lord of the Rings in some way shape or form. Hmmm, how strange.
