Saturday has become tv day. I've watched some Sarah Jane Adventures, this week's BSG, am about a third of the way through the second episode of HBO's John Adams miniseries and the Doctor is downloading.

Am also dog-sitting today. It's a good thing the Pup is used to people typing on the computer at all hours of the day and night. He's being very patient with me.

Re: Long Distance Call. I blame any problems I had with the ep on the Writer's Strike. My biggest disappointment was that it felt like a great episode that didn't quite reach that mark. And if they're going to bring Jeffrey Dean Morgan back I wish they would've used him more, or better, or something. Oh, and Stewie should've been a skinny white guy and Laney's family should've been not white.

However, when I caught a second viewing with the Baylors I had a most pleasant time. There's some great stuff in that ep, mostly between our boys. Our show's greatest strength is its Winchester characterization and all of those scenes were excellent. Dean freaking out about his time running out and Sam desperate to help but not knowing how. Sam, like us, knew that it wasn't John on the phone but he'd never get Dean to believe that until he had absolute proof. Oh, boys. And the poem line. *flaps* And I have to admit, I kind of loved the mention of Edison's spirit phone, mostly because that's one of the things I love about show in general, the way it can shine a spotlight on local myths and legends. Now I have an urge to write up a whole post about the depth Supernatural's mythological base and how that gives me, as a viewer and fan such satisfaction.

BTW, Dean? The Fifteenth Century was not the Dark Ages. Just so you know. ;-)

Re: BSG. It's official, I hate Gaius Baltar as much as I hate Ruby. Not that I've ever particularly liked Baltar. I've mostly despised him but as long as the show portrayed him as the weak hypocrite he was, I could handle his continued presence. Now that they've turned him into the Cylon Jesus I kind of want to rip his head off. It is beyond offensive to see Baltar presented in such a light. I'm offended, and pissed off, and I can't even listen to his scenes anymore. I mute them out of sheer self-preservation. I'm also not all that fond of what they're doing with Kara. Ever since her "death" episode and they way they portrayed her mother's abuse as some sort of beneficial agent, shaping her for her "destiny" I've been a little wary and they've only been making it worse. It's hit the point where I'm only watching anymore because I'm curious about where it's all going. And cause Saul Tigh is still kind of my hero, until they squick that storyline out, as well.

Okay, have to boogie. The Pup was awoken and now requires my attention. I think a walk is in order, and then a bath.
