There were some things I really loved about this episode. And there were some things that bothered me on a really fundamental level. The most important question of the day being:

Why the hell can't Katie Cassidy act? OMFG that girl is awful. She had some choice lines in there that sunk faster than the Titanic. This intense antipathy I have for both her and Ruby is completely outside of the norm, for me. I'm not the girl who has problems finding any redeeming characteristics in characters, especially female characters. Am rather irked.

It doesn't help that Ruby's whole existence bothers me on a deep, metaphysical level. The whole end of the episode with her and her blahblahblahblah in the parking lot just pinged me the wrong way. I don't like it. Since Kripke's mythology hasn't failed me yet I'm not about to condemn anything without a little more information but, seriously, you expect me to believe that that bitch is special? She wishes that she fit in with the other demons? It all just feels wrong. I call bullshit.

But, yeah, this would all probably be helped if Katie Cassidy could fucking act. Makes me wish they could've brought Nicki Aycox back.

Wasn't it awesome when Dean called her names and almost shot her? Yeah, that was pretty cool. And Sam was pretty damn hot when he was driving the Impala down the road. Faster, pussycat, kill, kill. And Dean and the rabbit! He's a big gooey marshmallow and I love him.

The last half really did suffer from, 'here is my plot, let me show you it' syndrome but it was cool to find out about the demon rising in the West. Maybe it's Randall Flagg.

In sum: Dean, if you get your hands on a nifty demon killing knife you take it with you when you leave. And Sam&Dean? Don't listen to the demon chick. I know she seems sympathetic and all but I DON'T TRUST HER and, obviously, neither should you.

Next week looks pretty awesome. *claps hands in anticipation*

No matter what, it feels damn good to have our boys back on the television screen. I love you, boys!

ETA:
[livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth: But I don't understand why Sam was so beat up afterwards. He was only thrown into the wall just like Dean was.
[livejournal.com profile] liptonrm: I thought it was because she was squeezing him inside.
***beat***
[livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth: *hysterical laughter*
[livejournal.com profile] liptonrm: I maybe should have thought more before I said that out loud.
[livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth: You think?
Our Brains Combined: mmmmmm squeezing Sam ...

lol, you put in the phone call! :-D

I guess Sam DID get shoved slowly into the wall. Still, all he had to do was lie hang there. Demon did all the work. Still-still, I shouldn't complain. Panting!Sam is nice, too :-)
