Jan. 7th, 2008 07:08 pmWell, I officially have to stop smack-talking Tom Cruise seeing as United Artists, the production company he co-owns, just made a deal with the Writers' Guild. So, sorry Tom for all of the things I've said in the past.
Seriously, though, It's really nice to get some good news like this on such a nasty January day. For some reason the kind of damp chill that's been infecting the area in the past couple of days is harder on me than mounds of drifting snow. Plus I started back to class today which is always a downer.
I finished reading The Nine by Jeffrey Toobin last night. It's a very well-written and researched book about the Rehnquist and nascent Roberts Supreme Courts. I learned a lot about the justices that I never knew before. It had the added benefit of stoking my rage towards the far right-wing contingent of the Republican party. The lengths some of those uber-conservatives will go to to ram their agenda down the nation's throat is atrocious. It kind of makes me want to start working for some ultra-liberal organization after I get my JD. Except organizations like that never pay very well and, well, the whole point of this law school thing was to earn a little money. I guess we'll see what happens in a few years, won't we.
Wow, this post is making it seem like I'm full of rage. I'm totally not, I promise. I've finally started writing again, which is nice, though it constantly amuses me how I'm never able to reach that point during break. I did a little dabbling in sekrit pretend worlds over the weekend and started on the next bit of my big fic project right before class. It wasn't the best thing I've ever written but any forward momentum is a good thing. ;-)
I got my loan money today. *wipes brow in relief* I was getting a little tired of peanut butter.
Speaking of, I think I'm going to go scrounge up some food. And maybe watch some Supernatural. I'm up to 'Tall Tales' in my season 2 rewatch and a girl can never get enough of Bobby giving those boys some well-deserved grief. Good times.
