Oh, show. You never fail to make my day bright and shiny.

My only true disappointment was that the episode took place in North Carolina (the mention of Duke University and Sam's map at the end pretty much cemented that fact even though I can't recall an actual town being mentioned). It's not that I dislike North Carolina, I'm as vaguely fond of it as I am any state that isn't Ohio or Utah, it's just that the Great Lakes are full of ghost ship stories so setting the episode in, say, Michigan would've been appropriate. Oh well, they mentioned the Griffon in the exposition dump, that's acknowledgement enough, I suppose. ;-)

There was quite a bit I enjoyed in the episode. Boys in tuxes. The way they took me through a whole cycle where I started off calling Bela a bitch and by the episode discovered that I was really quite fond of her. The shower scene in the beginning was creepy. Boys in tuxes. The Bond-esque music they played during the first Dean-in-tux scene. Dean hyperventilating when the Impala was missing. The boys squatting which inevitably leads to them being beautifully lit by candlelight. Sam calling Gert, "Mrs. Haversham." And did I mention the boys in tuxes part? Cause that was really nice.

The scenes when Sam and Dean are yelling at me are starting to make me really tense. After that last scene I don't think I was able to breathe for a full minute. I foresee some serious pain in the future and I, for one, am looking forward to it.

The preview says Gordon comes back next week. Excellent. Gordon Walker is a fascinating character and I can't wait to see where they're going to take things from here.

I've been meaning to pimp this for a few weeks now. [livejournal.com profile] amchara is putting together a second gen anthology and would like fic suggestions over here. Some great stories have already been recced but you never know what gems might be slipping through the cracks.

Okay, I have to go pack. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to the convention in Chicago with my fangirls. I'm ummmm getting Jared&Jensen's autographs on Sunday (and would have gotten Samantha Ferris's if I were made of money). In my head I'm trying to think of it mostly as a book signing though for some reason that stanza from the Hail Mary, "pray for us sinners," won't stop going through my head. Either way, it'll be awesome to hang out with fangirls all weekend. \o/

So, yeah, packing, I should totally start doing that.
