Yay! The party is this weekend. Aaah, my drunken, hooligan friends, how I appreciate you. We're all going to have so much fun. I'm just biding my time 'till noon rolls around and then I'm off to the great, leaf-blanketed north. Well, first I'm off to visit a friend who lives on the way and then I'm off up north. Tee Hee!

My poor Scrappy, he's going to be so lonely this weekend. He's a crazy, sociable kind of dog and he pines for people when they're not around. Okay, maybe 'pines' is a bit of an exagerration, however, he gets into loads and loads of trouble when he's left on his own recognizance. He doesn't even need to be drunk to be a hooligan, it's part of his genetic makeup. I suppose the 'rents will just have to try and control/console him this weekend and I'll expect his hyperactive welcome home when I get back.

The craziest thing happened on my drive to work this morning. I was heading down the freeway and someone was trying to pass me on the left (as oft-times occurs) when suddenly this person's car spun out of control, swerved to the left and then to the right. I guess he/she blew a tire, or something, but I was darn grateful the driver was so skilled. That could have turned into a very nasty situation for your's truly and any of the other people on the road if not for the driver's ability to keep the car under control, even under such surprising circumstances. A rather harrowing experience, all told.

Yikes! I had an almost-accident this morning as well. I'm sitting in the left turn lane, and the guy ahead of me goes and something falls out of the back of his truck. It was a large PVC pipe or something. It was laying right in the road and this semi was coming right at it with me sitting like a wounded duck. At the last second the truck swerved around it, but another two secs and that pipe would have been in my car, and who knows what else along with it. Whew!
