I have been very busy reading comics for the past couple of days. Ever since hearing that JDM would be in the Watchmen movie I've been soaking up comic-y goodness. I read that and then I filled in some Birds of Prey holes and I finished up with Y: The Last Man. I'm a little comic-d out, for the moment, but it was definitely a fun way to spend a couple of days.

There certainly are a lot of parallels between comics and fanfiction. It's no wonder that I have quite a fondness for both media.

I am in a crazy baking mood. Oooo, I know, I'll bake some of my great-grandma's sugar cookies for the camping trip. I love those things. They're not traditional in that they're not of the cut-out variety but they're absolutely delicious. They'll be perfect for the day trip to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.

Reason I come by my dorkiness legitimately #7,052 - When discussing our upcoming camping trip via email the following exchange was had.

The Da: We will have to watch out for large sand worms, although they might help spice up the experience.
Big Lug: We'll just need to get that one fellow from Tremors, Burt I think it was, with his guns. That should lead to a feeling of security about the giant sand worms.
Me: Don't worry Dad. Large worms or not, the spice must flow.
The Da: [Big Lug] just doesn't get these refined literary references. All he can think of is movies.

I kinda love how no matter how you slice it every member of my family is a dork in one way or another. =D

Saw Order of the Phoenix in IMAX 3D. It was awesome. Definitely worth the extra money.

Had a dream a couple nights ago wherein I had a tattoo and now have a strange desire to get one. Also have a strange desire to have my palm read as my heart and life lines are fused together and I wonder what that means.

Mmm cookies. I made a cake this week; it was a different consistency than what you gete in a box, but it was very good. Baking is so much fun sometimes. :)

Palm reading sounds interesting. There's a lady who does it at the local farmer's market here (Utah just keeps surprising me), but she charges an arm and a leg. Sigh.

I love baking. I wish I could do it all of the time. Except than I'd weigh 70 billion pounds and that would be no good.

mmmmm suddenly brownies sound really good ...

I'm glad to hear Utah is still so full of surprises. ;-) Yeah, the cost is the big reason why I've never had my palm read. Being a poor student really sucks. bleh
