So, get this, Sarah McLachlan is coming to the Palace in August and I really want to go, but I forgot to tell my friend so I thought that when she bought tickets she only bought for her and her roommate but come to find out that she did buy me a ticket as a birthday/graduation present and I'm now totally in shock, in a good way, and really, really happy and I don't think I've breathed the entire time I've been typing. *whew*

In other words, Thank you [livejournal.com profile] hlgraban! You are the absolute coolest and the sweetest and best and everything good. Love you!

In other news... I don't think there is other news, this news is way too big and must be shouted from the rooftops. Well, okay, now that my brain is starting to come back down into its more normal functioning mode, I do remember some TV stuff I wanted to babble about. Without further ado...

I just finished watching season one of Smallville which I borrowed from the intrepid friend Dan. I had caught various episodes but, because of the mission, I had never seen the whole thing. Now I have and it was... interesting to say the least. Lana was much more intersting in season one, Pete actually got some cool stuff to do (and may I just say, Pete may be short but he looks just as good shirtless as Clark does;-). Jonathon Kent was really annoying but the Magnificent Bastard was magnificent in his bastardness.

I have realized why I love Lex so much, and it's not only because he's so gorgeous that I go weak in the knees but because he's full of possibilities and he doesn't even realize it. He wants to be a good person, or at the very least he doesn't want to be his father, and in striving to be different and better he inevitably seems to be stalking his way down the path from super-friend to super-villain. His character is the one on the show who evidences the most depth (with Chloe as a close second) and I can't help hoping that he'll find his way to a better life, even though I know he won't.

I also had the privilege of watching the Alias pilot which I borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] hlgraban. That's some good stuff there, very intense and though I understand why they had to kill off Edward Atterton (aka Syd's fiancee Danny) I'll still miss him. Dangit, now I need to go buy Children of Dune.

Still dancing on air over here. Hope everyone is having an absolutely remarkable day.

So you liked that, huh? Yeah, kinda thought you would. I never heard back from you, and then I thought it must be that darn $ issue again, but I thought, Sarah McLachlan hasn't been on tour for years, and whenever she has a show, they sell out. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I don't think you, me, or Becky should miss out on it. But having not heard from you, I wasn't exactly sure what to do... so I just decided what the hell, buy an extra. At best, she'll want to go, at worst, I know at least two other people who'd want it. Can't lose. And by giving it to you as a gift, we automatically eliminate the whole awkwardness of who owes who what, and "I would go, but I don't have enough money"... Masterstroke, huh? Yeah, sometimes I'm a smart one...

Anyway, I'm happy you're happy. Maybe my luck's starting to turn around a little.
