WIP Amnesty

I only have one story that I will never finish. I started writing a pirate story last summer that may have, eventually, incorporated elements of Peter Pan (Captain Hook, in particular) but hit a wall before it really took off. I'm in a sharing mood so I thought I'd type up what I have.

When Rosie was very small her nurse would bundle her into her perambulator on fine days and take her for long walks along the shore. There nurse would regale her wide-eyed, captive audience with talkes of water sprites and pirates and mermaids and all sorts of fantastic things. The sun would shine down on them and they would return smelling of the sea with the crash of the waves loud in their ears for the rest of the day.

Nursie was quite sure that Rosie's mother would never approve of either destination of subject matter, being a practical, scientific sort with little patince for such nonsense. It was fortunate, then, that Mrs. Norwood was an important, busy woman who was content to leave much of little Rosie's care to her heighly recommended nurse. All of her former employers had praised her for her discretion, after all.

There were nights when Mummy would come in, wrapped in her bright dresses and sparkling with jewels to kiss her little one goodnight. Rosie would make content baby noises and Mummy would carefully adjust her blaknets before bending down to softly kiss her forehead, silks and jewels glistening in the moonlight.

If Mrs. Norwood would later dream of the sea, the sound of the waves following her into the next day, it raised no great alarm. One's dreams, after all, were often inexplicable.

~~~
Rosie grew and Nursie was eventually replaced by Governess. Governess did not believe in fairy tales and thought the sea was a strange, dangerous place. It was better to not go near it, better to stay inside, away from bewitching vistas and unsavory characters.
Rosie didn't much care for Governess's opinions.
That's it, that's all I ever wrote. Maybe one day there will be more.
For any who are curious, I do plan on finishing All Stories End before next week. I am completely determined.
Oh, thank you. Now I really do hope that I have more inspiration/will to write. Sinking into that particular story was very nice. *sigh* Too many stories, not nearly enough time.
