2006 In Review

The Good:
*Fic.
*Television. I don't think I've had such a year where I've enjoyed so many TV shows.
*Law School
*Winchesters
*Fangirls and fandom in general.
*The Pup finally living with me full-time

The Not-So-Good:
*Law School
*Great-uncle Bob passed away.
*Wars and rumours of wars.


I Am Grateful For ...
*My family, always and forever
*My friends. Ya'll are a crazy lot and some of you I know better then I know myself and some of you I hardly know at all and some of you I don't talk to nearly as much as I should but all of you make my life better then it could possibly be. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
*Television. This year I've had so much televised bliss. There was The O.C. and Hustle and Saved and Battlestar Galactica and Heroes and Dr. Who and Torchwood and, most importantly, Supernatural. You've distracted me when I needed distraction and entertained me when I needed entertainment and given me hours of fun whether you were on or off. The TV gods have certainly smiled upon me this year.
*Supernatural. Yes, I just mentioned it and it so totally deserves its own category anyway. It feels so good to be obsessed again, to have a fandom again, to have tons of new fic to read and episodes to watch and, especially, to have all of my closest fangirls be as addicted as I am. I'm having a hard time remembering life before Sam and Dean Winchester and I wouldn't have it any other way. I complain about getting phone calls in the middle of watching/reading/thinking about SPN only to be reminded that I'm doing that all of the time.
*The life I'm leading. It's not wonderful or glamorous and it's certainly not perfect but I'm content with it, either way.

My Year in Fic
Last year was, for me, ridiculously prolific. Law school has tamed that more then I would like but I'm happy with what I've finished and ridiculously fond of the lot of it, warts and all.

In summation: It was a year. I discovered the tortures of law school finals and the joys of a tv show about two brothers and their hot car. I had loads of crazy fun with good friends that included 36 hour television marathons and inappropriate conversations galore. There has been great sorrow and so many of my friends have had very difficult, if not nearly impossible years but there has been a lot of joy as well. Here's hoping that 2007 will be immeasurably better then 2006 and that we all find a little bit of what it is we're looking for.

You can imagine that I have many important things to say about all of the above, but I will leave those for another time and simply say that our TV land-speed-record of 36 hours kicks ass in a really big way. And that you rule my world for Supernatural. And also that I love you longtime.
